How successful is selling on not on the high street?

Hi!

(Posted from business as no responses)

I've recently became a partner of not on the high street and wondered if there is anybody else on here who sells there too.

If so, how successful have you found sales to be on there? I'm having difficulty finding many sellers groups out there to see how successful it is!

Thank you!

I don't like it personally, the prices seem excessive when I could go to a seller direct.

@cocksstrideintheevening

Do you sell on there too?

I like it-not as a seller but DD and I do buy a lot

I like the supporting small business angle and have had very good service etc

I'm not a seller I'm afraid but from a customer point of view I much prefer Etsy which seems to have similar businesses and items but is often cheaper.

I'm a buyer. I find the thing on not on the high street then try to find it directly from the seller as often cheaper

Thank you all - it is so helpful to see from a buyers perspective too!

Unfortunately the commission fees on not on the high street are really hefty hence the often high prices which is the biggest downfall.

I’ve found things on there I wanted to buy, but as a previous poster did, I also found the seller direct and bought it direct.

Yes I thought that might be the case when I saw how much cheaper I could get direct. Thought I'd share so you knew that even though I don't buy from there i do use it a a sort of catalogue

@plumduck

Definitely helpful!
I'm actually surprised so many of you then go on to purchase direct - something I haven't personally done in the past. I have treated it more like a marketplace.

Really helpful, thank you everyone x

Another one who looks on NOTHS and then tried to buy direct but not all sellers have their own sites. I don’t often find it much cheaper though, I thought there was a rules about the sellers not undercutting the NOTHS price, could be wrong though.

I became a partner around the same time you posted this, I've sold a wee bit now during the spring sale but it's still quite slow! How have you been getting on since?

adelaidehoo · 06/05/2023 18:39

@tecc

Same as you really - I won't be renewing my membership once the year is over!

The fees are just astronomical - I have to inflate my pricing so much and still make less than selling on other platforms! I knew this before applying but I don't think I appreciated just how much I'd need to inflate them. I've spoke to a lot of people since who have said the same, it's a shame x
