Any simple ideas to cover the flashing light on my car charger?

Because of where it's positioned under an overhang we can't see the light in our house unless we deliberately look out the study window, but my neighbour says that she can see it flashing in the master bedroom of her house. I could just black it out with duct tape, but it would be useful if there was any gadget out the that can be attached to cover the front and the neighbour's side but still be open on my side so that I can see the charging state.

Is she usually a drama llama as I can't see how that light can bother her in her bedroom!!

Ive had to stick duct tape over everything in the bedroom that has a light, like the telly or the plug sockets.

Ive also had to get different curtains, plus liners, plus weight my curtains down on the window sill with books, scrunching them up so that they are flat to the wall because of selfish neighbours who have bright white fairly lights flashing all bloody night. It comes through the top and side of my curtains and black out liners and reflects on the white ceiling, white wall and white wardrobe

Utterly selfish

Im now having to think about whether to get shutters, expensive.

Wear an eye mask??

What about polymorph? It's thermoplastic beads that you heat up in hot water and can then mould to whatever shape you want.

I wouldn't say drama llama, you might but I wouldn't. Wink She's lovely and a considerate neighbour but also very particular. She was also complaining that she has lost 'all her privacy' because I took down some evergreen trees. However she has a very low fence between her front garden and the road, and always has, so anyone walking or diving past has always been able to see straight into her front garden and front windows. The only privacy she has lost has been between her house and ours, and we can't see into her house from our house, so basically she has lost privacy from us between the time we exit our car and walk into our house, when we never even glance in her direction.

However, my garden is my garden so the planting and maintenance is up to me. I did point out that she could plant something more screening on her side of the fence. Grin The light thing is outside of her control though, and within my control so it seems fair to at least fix that for her.

Do you need to be able to see the light rather than just tape over it completely? Could you make very small holes in some insulation tape, like pin holes/perforations, so you still get a hint of light.

Or maybe white insulation tape would let a bit of a glow through but not the bright light that's bothering her.

Or stick something in the flower bed? Like a plant growing up some trellis or one of those ornamenty things on sticks?

I think I will just tape over it, as others have pointed out I can check on the app if the car is charging properly.

The odd thing is that we can't see it in our house. This is a photo that I took in day light. You can see that it's pretty much right beside the bay window of our study, you can just about see her bay window through the fence and her master bedroom is the bay window directly above that. I waited until after dark and turned off the study light, but I still can't see the light from the charger (my computer screen was still on so that might have been drowning it out). Also, I've had an electric car for over two years and there has always been a direct line of sight to her master bedroom window from the charger because the trees were planted in the bed that you can see to the extreme right of the photo and not in front of that fence, but she's only mentioned the issue since I had the trees taken down.

Anyway, I didn't need to go out this afternoon so I charged the car in the daytime and I've turned off the charger so it won't affect her tonight. It doesn't make much difference in the short term but, long term, night rate would be cheaper.

I think electrical tape is a good shout too .

I live in a pretty historic town and find the new electric car chargers in the town car parks awful
Because they are lit up with bright garish blue lights. They look really ugly.

Bit of blu tac and a plastic ruler. If you get the angle right you will be able to see but she won't.

If the blu tac doesn't seem secure you could electric tape the top of the ruler down and put a bit of blu tac at the bottom so it covers from the front but doesn't sit flat. So you can see from your window.
