Odema and numbness in hands on waking

I will start by saying I'm under health investigations so this is just for some ideas. About 18 months ago I woke up with really tight ankles which I knew was odema. I was also tired and breathless so had hadtests for heart failure and circulation. All fine ( or fine enough I guess) then I have nerve conduction studies, scans on my hands, mri all ok. Since then my face is also swollen on waking. Gp but me on antihistamines but they didn't help. I have asked to see allergies team who have said its definitely not an alergy. She thinks maybe kidneys and is running a full thyroid panel ( I think the rheumatologist did but she said she test for more things). Today I woke up on my back, bot hands and wrists totally numb again. I have sleep apnea, I just under pre diabetic. Any thoughts as it if the alergy clinic comes back OK I want to go private. My hba1c?? Was 41. I asked the gp to give me my overdue pre diabetes blood twst form yo do alongside the thyroid and kidneys - no reply

Bumping. I'm wondering if these could be pre diabetes symptoms? However the numbness goes as soon as I move my hands in the morning. My arms went numb today just carrying two kids coats wrapped over my arms at the park, but it's not like pins and needles. There's no pain and slow recovery as the blood starts flowing. I just need to change position and its gone.

I have those are I seem to be sleeping on my back with my hands above my head. Assume it's nothing more sinister than poor circulation.

I also have a pufgy faces but am snoring more too according to DH so think it's allergies so going to try a steroid nose spray

Does the numb part correspond to any of the colours on the nerve map? For example, I have dodgy elbows that trap my ulnar nerves, so I sometimes wake up with one or both hands numb, but only in the green areas.

My GP does a diabetes check ( not sure how old you have to be to get that FOC ) but takes 10 mins - quick blood thing ) There are things where you could get ulna radial and radian slight nerve damage - which can be just leaning your elbows on a desk - although I think you would get mild pins and needles. So - I am sorry I have not been much help there unless to say ulna etc will ( I am not a doctor ) give you some slight pins and needles - so I wish you well and very much hope you can get this sorted out

I was due another pre diabetes blood test but when I did a econsult the gp didn't actually say I was due, but I had the text. Weird. I don't think my gp practice ever looks at your medical records unless you ask them too.

It is like a mild pins and needles. it just goes within two seconds of moving the hands. I have fluid leaking in my retina too but the Dr thinks it's leaking blood vessels due to high blood pressure
