Help! Is there a way to buy a pram on eBay that’s collection in person only without having to go and get it?

I’ve been looking for a very specific type of buggy for a while and it has came up today but typically it’s collection in person only. It’s at the other end of the country from me 🙄 The price difference from new means I almost think it would end up being cost effective to fly down to collect it but it seems a bit extreme! I’ve looked at couriers but it involves the person having to package it up and it says they won’t post.

Is there a company that exists where they’ll go and collect it and get it to me somehow?

Thanks

Please be aware that if you arrange a courier and the item is not as described, EBay won’t refund you under their terms and conditions.
unfortunately I found this out after purchasing an item that was in a bad state of repair (not stated in the photos or description), but they wouldn’t give me my money back because I’d arranged a courier to collect (I guess they think the courier could have damaged it). Despite my seller admitting the item was sent in a very poor state of condition, EBay wouldn’t budge.

Can you go & collect it & make a trip of it? So, see what is relatively nearby & turn it into an exciting outing? Still a cost, but it will feel like you are getting more for your money.

@confusedofengland
I have considered doing this and I think it could be the only option. Annoyingly we had already arranged a nearby trip in a few months so it would involve going to the same place twice 🙈 Not sure whether I should just forget it and get a different one

@Lemitta123 thanks, I think due to cost as well and the unknown of what state it would arrive in/if it would arrive, means the only way I could realistically get it is if I get the train down for it. Going to see how much it goes for and take it from there, if it ends up staying relatively low it could be worth it

Just wanted to come back on to say thank you so much to whoever suggested Shiply, had never heard of it before but I bought the pram and had it collected.. it only cost £70 for the transport, which compared to return flights or trains, is nothing! Thank you 😊
