I saw the hygienist today and she found an arrested cavity in the distal margin of my upper canine. She called my dentist in who agreed it looked arrested rather than active and said that given it's in a very awkward location which would need a lot of drilling we should watch and wait for 3 months rather than filling it.
I feel a bit odd about not getting a hole in my tooth filled asap but will follow their advice. What's most odd though is I see her every 6 months, and it definitely wasn't there last time. My dental hygiene has been spot on for the last 20+ years, I floss religiously and my bleeding score is always 0% so I don't understand how it would go from fine to active decay to arrested decay in just 6 months? In a spot that's actually not that crowded. Anyone any ideas?
