Should I pay to return this even though the seller is at fault?

We recently bought an expensive bracket to wall mount a new TV. We bought both items from the same online shop. The bracket doesn't fit so we need to return it. The seller (via chat as you can't ring them - surprise, surprise) is saying we need to pay to return the item. It's a large bracket so returning it would not be cheap. Is that correct? Even though the website recommended the wrong bracket so it wasn't our mistake? I have tried to look online at consumer rights for this scenario but cannot find anything. Thank you.

Do their T&Cs say anything about returns?
Was there an original delivery charge?

I know it’s not faulty as such but some good info on this letter template to quote, you wouldn’t have ordered the item if it had been described correctly so shouldn’t be out of pocket for the postage. Maybe suggest to them that you get trading standards involved? That might make them see clearly!

Were you sent the bracket that you ordered?
