If you had a small 9-year-old boy, what is their adult height?

My DS (age 9) is the one of the smallest boys in his class - there’s maybe one boy smaller than him.

He’s always been small - he was a small baby. It’s never especially bothered him, but he’s started saying things like “I’m going to be tall when I’m older though”. I think it’s because his dad is tall 6’2. I am smallish (5’3.5 - the 0.5 is important!)

He’s convinced he’s going to be tall like his dad someday, but I am not so sure! I keep saying “Who knows what your height will be! Some people are small, some people are tall and we all grow at different rates.”

So, just wondering… if you had a small DS at 9, did he stay small?

Completely not true for all 3 of my boys. All are taller than predicted. My daughter was supposed to be 5'2 max... she is adult 5'7"

One of DS best mates has a 5ft Mum and a 6ft 1 Dad. He was always small. He is fully grown at 23 at 5ft 5, his brother is 18 and is 5ft 6 and could still grow.

One thing is make sure he gets plenty of sleep, that’s when growth hormones are released. It’s the reason I comment on height threads becuse I don’t think that’s a well known fact. I also know his short mate is a terrible sleeper.

Mine was similar - very petite until he was about 16 (I remember one primary school photo where he was almost the shortest in the year) and then rocketed. He’s just shy of 6 foot now, much taller than me or his dad.
