I think I know the answer, but want to be sure. Feel very silly for asking.

Instead of posting same reply, someone should suggest using google next time.

Thanks everyone. I also thought 20g. I am shit at maths! I was questioning myself, because I've just bought some collagen supplements that are 20g per day, and they were cheaper than the Absolute Collagen which are 8000mg per day. You know when you think, hang on, am I getting this right?!

It's quite weird that we use grams and milligrams, and the centigram may as well be non-existent. I wonder why that is.

BarbaraofSeville · 14/02/2023 11:22

Because if people can't get their heads around mg to g conversions, they're really going to struggle with cg.

Part of my job involves teaching (often quite educated) adults health and safety awareness for a particular hazard and a lot of people struggle with this sort of thing. it's very common.

But OP, just because there's a price difference between different types/brands/strengths, doesn't mean you're wrong in understanding the maths. Lots of things vary hugely in price and it's often not logical. They've probably increased the price of the Absolute collagen to make you think it's better than the other version for example.

I'm not sure that is true. We all deal with metres > centimetres > millimetres just fine. They're rarer, but I don't think many people have an issue with centilitres too, when they're used on packaging.

You didn't think to Google this?

Thank you for your kind words. I worked in a Bank for 27 years, you'd think I'd be good with numbers, and I am mostly, but measurements sometimes leave me stumped.

I did Google it, but was doubting myself, as per my earlier post.

centi is a bit of an anomaly I think as usually in science things go by 1000.

so (megametre), kilometre, Metre, millimetre, micrometre, nanometre

stuckonpills · 14/02/2023 12:04

20g

Tratjymp · 14/02/2023 13:54

Is it 800 mg of feathers and 20 g of lead though?
