Most cringey thing a bloke has done to seem interesting/enigmatic/romantic?

I am many decades out of dating, and didn't even date that much, so I didn't really experience this though I did have one date with this guy who was all 'I think you're a really cynical person' in a way that implied he thought I'd be flattered he thought I was 'smart', when I'm not cynical at x all and I find cynicism often something people affect to try to look clever.

Have you ever caught out a bloke, IRL or online, being melodramatic, 'negging' or some other dumb move to try to make himself look intriguing but failing totally?

Wrote me a poem about his love for me and how misguided it was and what a cunt he felt for having feelings. It was a bit of a surprise cos I didn’t think he had any feelings at all.

I only read a couple of lines but sometimes one of the words from the title is mentioned in some other context, it pops unbidden into my head, and I die a tiny wee bit all over again.
