Mine is Zadok The Priest by Handel. I expect we'll be hearing a lot of it come May, unless HM commissions a new coronation anthem.

Cavalleria rusticana

I love it and it always calms me.

Yesterday I listened to Mark Padmore singing Waft her, Angels, Through the Skies (more Handel) and it is such a beautiful aria. [Puts it on again]

I finished the day listening to Promises which I guess is a crossover album, it gets listed under the electronic artist Floating Points and it's absolutely awesome.

Tchaikovsky 5th, we saw the London Philharmonic perform it last night

gluenotsoup · 12/02/2023 08:58

@Greenraincoat12, isn’t it gorgeous? !
My dd’s piano tutor introduced us to it and my youngest dd (7) listens to it a lot near bedtime as she finds it so peaceful 🙂

RosaBonheur · 12/02/2023 08:59

Beethoven's 5th.
My teenage daughter had Alexa playing it as she got into bed.

Never happened before.

Lacrimosa by Mozart. But it was on a funny video 😂

Concierto de Aranjuez by Rodrigo. It popped up randomly on my YouTube recommendations as an excerpt from the movie Brassed Off.

Woke up at 4am. Put a Mozart collection on to soothe me back to sleep. Ahhhh. Man was a complete genius.

dubyalass · 12/02/2023 10:06

Beethoven’s 9th - if ever I need an energy boost I listen to that.

Shostakovich’s Waltz #2 and Khatchatourian’s Masquerade Suite (the waltz). Clearly I’m going for rousing rather than peaceful at the moment.

watcherintherye · 12/02/2023 10:09

Vaughan Williams - English Folk Song Suite. Rehearsing Seventeen Come Sunday atm - I love it, but it’s fast!

Fairytoast · 12/02/2023 10:09

Clair de lune by Debussy. I am under a lot of stress and classical and jazz music always grounds me so I’m listening to this lots atm, as well as many other pieces.

UnattendedPotato · 12/02/2023 10:29

Balletto a 3 in G/ Albinoni. Not consciously chosen, just some London Baroque Ensemble in the background.
