Would you message child’s bully’s mother?

Have recently posted about my disabled nephew being horrifically bullied at school. School have done very little about it and despite having a meeting yesterday, today once again my nephew was attacked. Calls to school have gone unreturned, emails not replied to. We have zero faith that they will deal with this issue at this point. School has in the past been sued due to not preventing a SEN child being bullied so I feel like if they aren’t hot on it after that, we have very little chance of them doing anything now.

now I’ve found the boy who attacked nephew’s mother on Facebook. Would you message her?

This is terrible to read. I'm so sorry for your nephew.
I'd be cautious about contacting the family incase he ends up in a worse situation. They might be awful people too.
I'd pull him out of that school immediately untill you can find a new one.

I think I would give the school a chance to respond. You say today he has been bullied. The school will need to investigate what happened. This isn't instant. If something happened today it is reasonable to expect them to look into it tomorrow. Contacting other child's parent would be a mistake.

Don't contact the parents because it'll give both the school and the police an excuse to say "six of one and half dozen of the other". Maintain a dignified silence, but do push the police to do something as it's a hate crime. Escalate to the local authority if the school won't do anything.

We had exactly the same situation with my ds and we had to pull him out of school for his own safety. I'm afraid that I lost my temper one day and confronted the main bully directly. I was at my wit's end.

Your nephew can keep in contact with his friends perhaps by playing online games, that's what my ds had to do. Online gaming is popular amongst autistic youngsters and a good way of keeping in touch with others.

Bullies are absolutely evil. There should be special schools they can be sent to where they can be straightened out.

I wouldn’t contact the mum. I don’t understand why you haven’t already reported it to the police though. Their actions are illegal. We wouldn’t put up with it as adults so why do we expect children to?

I would also let school know that the boys have been reported to the police and leave it at that.

Do the parents know that their kids are bullying? I haven't been in this situation, it sounds truly awful. If it were one of my kids doing the bullying I would very much want the parents of the bullied child to contact me and tell me so that I could sort it out! So coming at it solely from that point of view I would message the mother. I'm sorry your nephew has to put up with such shit.

Don't do it. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Build your son up in other ways, find a new school.
