Fuzzy head and other symptoms- menopause?

So I'm 51, not currently living in the UK and it's a 7 week wait for a gp appointment here. I've had a Mirena coil in for 7 years , hormones stop working after 5 years or so. My period has always been erratic but the last 3 months or so I've been having the following symptoms, sweats, erratic appetite, weight loss, some bloating, low mood that passes after a couple of days and a fuzzy, brain fog type of feeling . Am I correct in thinking that this may well be menopause?

I hope you’re not relying on it for contraception then ! You definitely need a new one.

Sweats, low mood and brain fog certainly can be peri. If you Google the symptoms and see how many you have, that should help you with the GP.
But your symptoms could be something else, and they should be investigated, be careful of just taking HRT without checking other things first.

Ah, the FDA guidelines are that they can be in place for contraception for 7-8 years, the hormone part was to treat heavy erratic periods.
Thanks for your replies @KangarooKenny , I will bite the bullet and see the GP.

She's 51 highly unlikely she would get pregnant, it would be risky if she was in her early-mid 40s but not once you hit 50

I'm 52 and had my Mirena changed last year. After 5 years the effect had completely gone and I was desperate to have it replaced. I'm still having some symptoms that I think are menopause but it's a lot more bearable!
