How to treat dry skin (from cold weather) all around 8yo’s mouth

Any tips? 8yo has dry skin all around is mouth from the cold weather - especially playing sports in the cold! Not sure what’s best to treat it, and he’s getting upset because the little shits his friends at school have apparently been making fun.

Our 4yo had the same issue, we tried a few things without success, but then got some DoubleBase cream (flare relief), it used to be prescription only, but is now sold on the shelf. I got it from Asda, its £8 a tube, but you don't need a lot ans my goodness it cleared it up within a couple of days. It also has a long date from opening (2years) so won't go to waste.

L’occitane Shea butter hand cream is really gentle and intensely moisturising with the tiniest amount. Cleared up the red chapped cracked skin around DS10’s mouth in 3.5 days used morning and night. He used a cocoa butter lip balm in between, but that was doing nothing to heal it on its own after 2 weeks

Do you use a regular moisturiser on his face/body anyway after bathing?

I'd recommend an aveeno oat one on a night.

If you don't use a regular moisturiser it might be something to think about.

Lansinoh is the best thing for this.

Aveeno dermexa is really good for dry flakey skin.

Lucas paw paw ointment is great

Savlon cream was the only thing that helped my daughter when she had this on several occasions.

I came on to say this. Only thing that worked on my sons chapped lips and face. I now use it on my granddaughter

Blistex lip infusion/new nivea lip balm/scrub thingy/bepanthen. Vaseline on its own is not good enough as it's just a barrier.

I was using 8-hour cream but switched to Carmex and it's fixed it (bit tingly for a few seconds). Vaseline will only create a barrier, not ré-moisturise
