Help me choose which job

I currently work part time in a job that is very straightforward, suits my skill set and is paid a reasonable salary. I have a good manager who is very flexible in terms of me working my hours, my child has SEN and I'm able to take time for meetings etc when I need to. I also mostly work from home which facilitates school pick ups etc. I could go full time in this role if I wanted, my boss would be delighted to increase my hours. The job is in a niche team, not many obvious routes for progression.

An opportunity has come up for a full time post which matches my skill set perfectly, it has a slightly higher salary and would involve me in fairly high profile developmental work in my current organisation. Even my boss says I would be silly not to go for it. However, my child care arrangements are set up for my current work pattern, I can't find additional childcare for the days I would need - it's possible that will change over summer as childcare places often come available as kids move through school etc, but that would mean a struggle until August time. I don't have family support for childcare so need to find paid options.

While my current working arrangement is good, I'm a bit bored and could do with a challenge. I also recently separated and going full time would allow me to keep the family home, if I stay part time we would need to sell, which isn't a huge deal in itself but if I could keep the house it would give the kids some stability.

So, do I stay part time in my current role, go full time in my current role, or apply for the new full time job?

Are you certain the new job must be FT? IME most jobs are advertised as FT but they will consider other working arrangements.
I’d try to to find out more about the flexibility potential of the new role before applying.

Can you talk to them and explain your situation and see if they offer a solution or workaround? If they are saying you'd be perfect for the role and want you in it they may be more than willing to make arrangements for you.
