What time does your Yr7 child go to bed?

I think dd who's in Yr7 should be in her room quietly from 9 (reading or TV) to be asleep by 10.

She acts like this is totally unreasonable and runs around the house bags or on calls with friends until at least 10.

She gets up at 7.15 for school and is a bit of a duracel bunny type but does often say she's tired and is pretty grumpy.

Shall I get harder on bedtime or is that unreasonably early? What time are your dc in bed?

When my grandson stays here his father insists he is in bed by 8.30pm as he has massive dark circles under his eyes if he goes to bed any later. When is is at home with his mum I know he is on his 'phone until much later even though he is in bed. That's when he has trouble getting out of bed next day.
I think 8.30 is a bit too early. 9pm seems reasonable to me, but I am not his parent so it's 8.30 when he is here.

Phone switches off automatically at 7.30pm, does some pet related chores and piano practise and showers. Watches TV if there is time. In bed for 8.30pm and lights out at 9pm. But this is a child who is very easily over stimulated and also needs a lot of sleep.

Plus we both work from home which means we can get tea and homework going quite early. I imagine if we didn't work from home the above schedule would be an hour or so later?

She is usually in bed around 9-10 but sometimes doesn't go to sleep straight away.
