I’m currently looking to return to back after being a SAHM for a few years.

I came across a thread about what you like about WFH, it all sounded very positive and practical.

So, it’s got me thinking about what jobs do you do, if you don’t mind sharing,

It might also give me some ideas too as currently looking into Admin jobs.

I'm a support worker for young care leavers, based from home but go out on visits, have a lots of teams meetings. It's really rewarding. I'm in charge of my own calendar and do school drop off everyday and pick up twice a week. I love it! Was previously pastoral leader in a school.

I'm mainly home based. Work for a non-departmental public body. Have a look on the civil service jobs website.

Working from home is handy for life but I'm a bit lonely of it and fed up!

Communications/public relations. I only wfh 1 day a week at the moment and in the office the rest of the time but dh does similar and wfh 5 days a week.

I'm a customer success manager for a SaaS product. WFH full time. Plenty of client calls so I'm talking to people for most of the day. I love it!

Fundraiser for a medium sized charity. Based at home with some regional travel. Love it.

Leadership role in Information Security, Governance, Risk & Compliance.

Very flexible so I get to set my own hours to an extent but it's a global company so there is the expectation I'll be in on meetings across whatever time zone I need to speak to which can mean some late night/early morning calls.

Patient Liaison for a private healthcare company, 100% remote, all email and Teams based with a little bit of outbound calling. Absolutely love it, I work as and when I like, as long as my output is within acceptable range, my boss doesn't care when the work gets done. Benefits of working for a private healthcare company are very good too, and pays higher than average for remote admin.

Complaint handler, moving into quality assurance shortly. I love the peace at home. No distractions, no background chatter, and best of all, no commute. Only go to the office twice a month.

I enjoy wfh but Teams is soul destroying and I miss just having general chats with colleagues instead of the choice of conference calls or so many individual catch ups that just interrupt my flow. It's weird that as an introvert I sometimes find wfh more exhausting from a social aspect??

I work for a university, in the IT department. There are loads of university admin jobs. Try www.jobs.ac.uk. Most unis are hybrid working. I'm meant to be in the office 2 days a week, but usually only go once (or not at all if there's a train strike, bad weather, or another excuse).

KatieKline · 06/02/2023 23:19

Solicitor - was WFH 5 days a week, have moved firms and now WFH 3 days a week 2 days in the office. Its a nice balance. I do love WFH, save on time and travel costs, I can walk the dog at lunchtime.

Also accountancy

Adminjobs23 · 07/02/2023 22:35

Thank you everyone. You all have interesting jobs and given me some ideas too. I didn’t even realise some of the above jobs could be done remotely. This is definitely an eye opener for me.

Many thanks
