Double buggy advice

I have a 4 year old son who has autism and has mobility issues, he can walk but not for long periods and not without holding onto something so I therefore still use a buggy for both him and my 2 year old (who is also being investigated for ASD) I am about to purchase my 7th buggy! As my double buggy (joie) is now too small. It’s really hard as shops like mothercare have closed down now so the only place I can view buggy’s is at John Lewis or Smyth toys and they only have a limited amount on display. I need to buy one that has a high maximum weight with quite a deep seat, I have been looking at the mclaren techno, it’s expensive so I want to make sure it’s the right buggy before I purchase
i wondered if anybody can recommend a really good double buggy that would carry a 4 year old comfortably?
many thanks

Baby Jogger City Mini Twin, hands down. Personally I hate the McLaren. Single handed fold, easy to push, lie flat big seats.

Some branches of Next have a Mamas & Papas outlet in them so it might be worth checking if your local one does. We have the MacLaren Twin Triumph which has a combined weight limit of 50kg but the individual seats say only 15kg (but may take more.

The other thing to consider is, would he sit on a buggy board with a saddle? They generally state age range of 2-5 years so might be suitable.

Phil and ted all day every day amazing.

I had a maclaren, loved it while they were small but I found it got harder to push as they got bigger. I found our off road buggy with big wheels was so much easier to push and steer.

I switched to a bike trailer when they were 3 and 5 and carried on using that for a few years. I used it on the bike (avoiding questions about why I still had both children in a buggy for the school run) but most also convert to a buggy. It does end up being a bit bigger than most buggys, but made getting out with them both possible.

Why not put a plea out on your local Facebook or nextdoor group to see if anyone has one of the models you are considering so you can see it in person, you never know if someone is selling too!

Babyjogger mini city double. MY bolting 5 year old fits comfortably in it. It’s stable, easy to push with a 18kg 5 year old and a 14kg 2 year old in it.
Mine was probably 3rd hand when I got it and apparently the city mini gt is better

I have an ND 4 year old and I need to get a double. The Phil and Ted looks like a good shout for a tandem. For side by sides baby jogger and mountain buggy should be big enough, MB has the taller back And BJ the higher weight limit.

Stollberry.com has a lot of measurements which can be handy when you can't see them IRL
