Half term ideas

I have half term off with my DD5 and looking for inspiration for things we could do that don't cost £££.

We're London based - already have a cinema trip planned using some vouchers and meeting a friend and her DD for a day out in central London.. what do you have planned?!

I was thinking maybe a day out via train but bit stumped on where we could go thats could be worthwhile exploring!

Have you done the little cable car ride over to the 02? That's fun and quite cheap.

Have a look at what’s on at your local library. Our local library does craft sessions and a kids book club during school holidays.
Also I highly recommend the activities organised by London Wildlife Trust. They’re always really well run and resourced. www.wildlondon.org.uk/events?type=1347
A one-hour session at a Flip Out trampoline park costs about £9, so not £££ and it completely tires them out!

A child free week as DD is off ski-ing with school ( rearranged from last year due to Covid regs etc).

I say child free but we are meeting up with DS1 at the weekend and DS2 is staying a couple of nights . They no longer live at home so technically not children but as they are male ....

Also check out what’s on at your nearest Hobbycraft store. Our nearest one has two workshops for accompanied children in half term. We’re booked on to the clay pot workshop and it’s only £8 for an hour which I thought was quite good.

Many of the museums run half term workshops and stuff for free - Tate Modern has a fabric arts one running every day for example. New museum you haven't been to before eg. take the river bus to Greenwich to the maritime museum

Visit the new Battersea Power Station - there is also a playground tucked round on the eastern side - and then Battersea Park afterwards.

Diana playground in Kensington Gardens if you don't go there often.

City farm visit (www.timeout.com/london/things-to-do/city-farms-in-london)

Get on top of a bus and pretend you're driving it somewhere new!
