What sort of a massage should I go for?

I feel like booking a massage. There's so many different types of massages I don't know what to pick.

I had a hot stone body massage before and that was beautiful and that would be a huge contender for me.

I get a lot of stress in my upper back.

I feel like going for a head massage to be honest. I need something relaxing.

Would an Indian head massage be good and relaxing?

Full body followed by an Indian head massage?

FenghuangHoyan · 05/02/2023 20:56

Yeah, full body with an Indian head massage. Hot stones are nice as well, but I like aromatherapy myself.

Deep tissue

Lifesyoungdream · 05/02/2023 21:14

I have deep tissues massage only because I have neck and back problems.

Full body. TejXing massage. Do not go bamboo sticks or anything hurty

WalkAwaySugarbear · 05/02/2023 21:15

My last one was a 2hr massage, full body medium strength, hot stone, scalp and facial. Absolutely divine. I'm making it a regular treat now.

Sensual full body every time for me but not for all.

It depends on whether it's more important to have something relaxing or something that will help cure your upper back.

These things can be quite contradictory when it comes to massage in my experience.

Yeah I agree. With a deep tissue massage they really dig into the muscle with elbows as well as fingers. It really gets to the pain though and after you do feel released. I think something less would not do it for me now as I need those painful, achey spots dug!

I usually go to my local Thai massage. It's like an hour in a torture chamber but you feel 10 years younger afterwards.

More gentle massages that just rub the surface of your muscles feel relaxing, but they don't really do much for aches and pains.

Do you know where you'll go? If so look at their treatment list to see if they do an option for Indian head massage and upper back or full body but also have an idea of cost as a full body massage can cost you a couple of hundred pounds at a nice spa.

I recommend looking on Groupon to see if there is somewhere local with a good deal as a nice spa near us does deals on there. Then again it's pretty much the same price as booking direct but I didn't know that and wouldn't have known about the place so was still worthwhile as it was a proper hotel spa.

I’m sure our Thai massage places are knocking shops

TheArtfulScreamer1 · 05/02/2023 21:49

Depends what your massage preference is I can't be doing with a strokey strokey massage but the Thai lady and the Malaysian lady who operate salons near where my mum lives in Hull are epic.

NoNameisGoodEnough · 28/01/2024 08:37

Deep tissue definitely. I cannot be doing with someone just lightly stroking me. Although Thai massage is go to lately. It is slightly discombobulating when the therapist climbs up on the bed but it is wonderful.
