£15 an hour but she brings her own cleaning supplies

pinkpirlie · 05/02/2023 05:26

£15 an hour. Comes for 2 hours a week. We have a 4 bed house but she only does 3 bedrooms.
She stays way longer than 2 hours, but doesn't charge any extra. We talk a lot which I think slows things down.

MinnieMountain · 05/02/2023 05:35

£25 per clean which takes 2-2.5 hours.

Geranium1984 · 05/02/2023 05:51

£50 for a 3hr clean.
I've moved to a new town and struggled to find a regular cleaner. Most seem to charge £15ph here.

AceofPentacles · 05/02/2023 06:25

£18 ph. That's the same hourly rate I get at my third sector job.

Keepyourmummysboys · 05/02/2023 06:53

South east, 12.50 an hour. I supply products. Four bed house with two of us living here, she does 2.5 hours weekly.

we regularly have guests though or,our daughter home, when that’s the case, I just up by another hour or whatever that week. She’s very flexible. I just leave the extra money out, as I know it’s more work , more beds to change etc, and she just does it. I don’t look at how long it takes her, its often less than I pay for.

I don’t get involved in what she does. She really, really doesn’t like it when I do and gets a bit offended if I give instruction, She’s a professional and very capable. So I let her crack on. I literally leave the money out, say nothing, and she knows when she sees it, texts her next client, and gets on with it.

im mid fifties now, having a cleaner is a luxury I’ve had for three decades, apart from a period when our daughter was young and we were skint . We don’t want to spend our weekends doing it. It’s the same reason I get Ocado to deliver. I don’t want to spend my weekend running round a super market either.

however, it’s worth pointing out, we are tidy. She doesn’t spend her time tidying, she cleans. Other than when our daughter is home, then she spends time folding clothes from her floordrobe, moving empty water bottles, and tidying up make up and other crap😃

15 an hour. She gets all her own cleaning stuff. She does four hours a week including all the ironing. She's bloody amazing. Our house is tidy though. We'd never leave dirty pots etc and I clean the loos etc during the week .

We paid her through lockdown. She's never let us down and I know she's got a waiting list of potential clients.

SquigglePigs · 05/02/2023 07:04

£13.50 an hour, 3 hours a week. She's worth her weight in gold to be honest!

Osteria · 05/02/2023 07:06

£15 ph - 6 hours a week - every week

there is only two of us but I don’t know what the point would be every other week as my house is a mess 3-4 days after!

Goingforasong · 05/02/2023 07:17

£45 for 3 hours. South East.

kegofcoffee · 05/02/2023 07:40

£20 an hour, 4 hours every other week.

Previously paid £13 an hour for 3 hours a week. But the company started sending someone different who did an awful job.

WaggyTailsWetNoses · 05/02/2023 07:51

£140 for ten hours cleaning and housekeeping across two days. She does the beds, does most laundry, the ironing, takes care of the dogs when she’s here, cleans the house thoroughly and does any extras (silverware, fridges etc.). She works at a relaxed pace, has a cuppa, chats about her kids. It feels like a huge indulgence, but it works out at 2 hours if my freelance rate ( minus tax) and I’d much rather work for two hours than clean for ten!

Lampzade · 29/10/2023 07:27

15 p/hr every other week. She works for five hours and focuses on the bathrooms, kitchen and reception areas. We have a five bedroomed house , but the dcs clean their own rooms and change their own bedding.
I still clean a little
I outsource my ironing ( once a month) but it is only for the bedding
I live in Kent

My cleaner is brilliant and has made my life so much easier

nottaotter · 29/10/2023 07:37

@MusicWithRocksIn Crikey, thats less than the minimum wage unless they are under 20 years ?

VeneziaJ · 29/10/2023 07:41

I am now looking for a new cleaner but rates around here hover between £13 and £15 an hour

pickledandpuzzled · 29/10/2023 07:41

Some of you are getting absolute bargains- I’m paying £22 an hour. East Midlands.

InacycleofNC · 29/10/2023 07:43

£17 an hour, inc. all products and gear. Three hours a week, no beds or laundry but including keeping on top of the spring cleaning. It's literally changed my life.

WilbursWinnie · 29/10/2023 07:46

£16.50ph for 3 hours a week. They bring all their own cleaning products.

Barleymilk · 29/10/2023 07:50

I'm a cleaner in south Midlands. In September I increased my rates from £15 to £16.50.
Should really charge more for the 2hr cleans ( i seem to work harder to get around)but I will keep it how it is for a couple of years.

CountryShepherd · 29/10/2023 07:55

Dorset £15ph, including materials. 2hrs a week but we've only one bathroom and I keep more on top of things since we've downsized.

StamppotAndGravy · 29/10/2023 07:58

Now I understand why the MN solution is always get a cleaner! The going rate here is €25ph, so much cheaper in the UK!

NnarcissaMalfoy · 29/10/2023 08:00

£20 an hour after a recent price increase. She does 5 hours a week

pippabg · 29/10/2023 08:01

£18 an hour - Berkshire

Fixesplease · 29/10/2023 08:01

I do admin for a cleaning company in the South, fully insured, supply all products and do everything and anything. £19.50 per hour and the cleaners get £15 of that.

ApplesinmyPocket · 29/10/2023 08:15

Near Cheltenham - £17 an hour, all materials supplied, 3 hours every fortnight. She's brilliant and does anything - changes beds, cleans fridges etc. There are five beds and baths so I don't expect her to do everything in one morning - she does the main bits, kitchen etc, and then uses the rest of the time on whatever she can see needs doing. I let her get on with it unless I have a specific job in mind.

I'd like her more often really! if I win the lottery I've told her I want her as a full-time housekeeper 😀 She says everyone tells her that!

She's the fourth cleaner I've had. Two were brilliant and the other two were unreliable.
