The reasons my husband gave for not getting a pet

This is totally lighthearted. We are too busy to provide a loving home to a pet, so it is not an option in any case.
I was feeling playful this lunchtime and our 6 year old son and I tried to convince H we should get a pet. Below are the reasons H gave for not getting one. I think he was feeling playful too.

Cat - It will eat your money tree, and knock over your Kopparberg so you will have to wash the carpet at midnight so the house doesn't smell like a bar. It will probably eat our marinating chicken when I'm busy having a poo too.

Hamster - It will escape, chew electrical cables, and blow our fuses. We will find it dead in a corner and our son will be traumatised.

Dog - I like dogs, but your sister is deathly afraid. Do you want to kill your sister?

Fish - Water! We cannot play balloon volleyball while sitting on the sofa anymore. What if we knock over the tank?

Miniature pig - We eat too much bacon! We are not hypocrites.

Another baby then - Are you tripping or something?

Another Saturday of silliness.
What silly reasons have you, your partner, or children given for and against getting a pet?

@endoftheworldniteclub no way! I can believe it! Years ago, I had a gerbil that escaped and ate through a power cable. It didn’t survive and I was quite traumatised!

I sometimes wish my DH had talked me out of owning pets….I’ve got 2 dogs, 2 cats, a hamster and a tortoise. All rescues apart from one of the dogs. I just can’t resist! I really wouldn’t want add up the cost of the damage over the years! 😂

@StrictlyAFemaleFemale I am sure there would be a silly "no" response to that too.
@Gawpygertie Such a shame.
@MaisyMary77 So very cute.

Our hamster survived somehow. 😂 I always wanted a tortoise! I’m lucky my parents let me have so many different pets over the years. I have an old dog and an old cat, they are best friends..don’t know what one would do without the other.

@GinBlossom94 Ah. So glad to find kindred spirits. Good to know we are not alone in having such silly conversations. We laugh easily, which makes for happy laidback people.

How very PA

@springerspanielpuppy op was being PA at all, I was agreeing with her that we have equally silly conversations in our house, people need to lighten up on here
