Good Morning All! What's Everyone up to today?

lucysmam · 04/02/2023 08:53

I'm drinking my first cuppa of the day, with dd1 who is also up for a change 😱 dd2's still snoozing but wants to go to town for a birthday present for her friend.

The washer's on, and there are a few pots to wash, but the rest of the house is reasonably clean and tidy.

When we get back from town, we'll chill for a few hours before heading back out for a birthday meal for dd1's 16th. It was almost 2 weeks ago but her dad booked a table later than anyone wanted to eat, last week, so we changed to this week instead.

This evening, I might do another round of the blanket I'm making myself, or I might carry on with the series of books the girls gave me for my birthday...we'll see.

What about all of you? 🙂

What a lovely thread.
Change all the beds and then have a shower.
Lunch at Wagamamas then DS wants to go to Games Workshop in town.
Few birthday cards to buy and send.
Movie with DD and send some stuff I sold on Vinted.
Chilled evening- Salmon and Veg for dinner.

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 04/02/2023 09:40

Up at 7 - house is a tip (as per!).

Taking kids to swimming - DD1 8yo and DTs almost 5yo. Then we need to have a "sorty-outy weekend" with a toy cull, dump trip, and wash the floors. Will be satisfying though!

Funkyslippers · 04/02/2023 09:41

Just pottering around, taking friend's dog for a walk with DD2 shortly ten getting my roots done! Can't wait. Badminton with DD2 later then cat sitting x 2. Chilling with The Masked Singer later. Pleased to say I did Dry January but have absolutely no desire for alcohol so I'll have a zero alcohol beer I expect

sundaymorningcall · 04/02/2023 09:43

Working this morning until 2.30pm
Home for a nap and some housework
Back to work this evening, I’m taking some of the kids out for dinner and to a comedy club so that should be fun!

CrackersCheeseAndWinePlease · 04/02/2023 09:44

I was up at 6.30 which is annoying on my day off.
Currently still in pjs, soon I'm getting dressed, going food shopping and the usual housework and laundry.
Really really need to clean my car today inside and out it's filthy! Then later it's The Masked Singer with DH and snacks then probably just dance with dd7. DD15 has just got up and is going to town with her friend

ariel251408 · 04/02/2023 09:58

Just having second coffee then need to get some bits ready to take to the post office & go for a run. Not feeling the running today but hopefully will feel good when I've done it. I'll just do what I can.
Then popping to see some friends who have moved out of area. Home for yummy steak & a couple of glasses of Prosecco.
Amazingly I've managed to get out of taking the kids to their clubs today for the first time ever & DH is doing them all.

maddiemookins16mum · 04/02/2023 10:01

I’m just back from Aldi and having a coffee.
About to do downstairs housework (DH did all of upstairs last night when I was out, out).
No washing needed today as it was all done yesterday and dried outside yay.
After lunch we’re popping out for a walk (and probably tea/cake somewhere).
Steak, chips and salad for tea then a film on Netflix maybe.
Tomorrow is cooked breakfast, Church (DH is on set up duty and I’m on after service tea/coffee). Going back with some church pals to theirs for Sunday lunch. Tomorrow night is our singing group (Community Choir). Really looking forward to it all, have had a busy week, Tuesday was tax deadline day and it was mad busy so I’m wiped out.

holierthanthou73 · 04/02/2023 10:03

on 2nd coffee, just put a wash on. Will make OH a nice cooked breakfast then I’m popping into town for a couple of things. We will then just laze around and eat for the rest of weekend.

Tangerinie · 04/02/2023 10:05

Not 100% sure what we're doing today. I'm still in bed as I am full of the cold. DH wants to visit his grandpa and he might drop the kids at pils on the way. If I feel better though, I might do a little arts and crafts sessions with DCs and he can just go to his grandpa instead

TangledWebOfDeception · 04/02/2023 10:07

Morning @lucysmam, and all!

We’ve had our first coffee in bed. Today it’s my turn to use our ‘True love and high adventure’ EB mug which I love because it has pink/purple/red lettering. I’m waiting for a pink hearts mug to arrive to be a partner to it, so we each can have one - February is our anniversary month and we celebrate it in small ways all month long. 😊

I’m about to make Nutella French toast for DH, and a cup of tea.

Afterwards i I need to do my eyebrows, which is my least favourite grooming chore so I always put it off for as long as I possibly can. Sigh.

Then we’ll relax for a bit and DH might have a look at what household job he’s going to do next and start planning for it (he’s renovating our Victorian house, doing everything himself).

After lunch we’ll visit PIL. B-and-SIL will also be there.

When we get home I’ll call my daughter for a chat.

Dinner will be macaroni cheese for DH. I’m not sure what I’ll have yet (lowcarbing)...possibly cauliflower cheese with pancetta but it depends what I fancy later on.

This evening I will open and look at my new EB/Fabled Thread embroidery kit which I’m looking forward to starting: ‘Lovebirds’ handkerchiefs to go with the theme of the month. I’ll probably make some decorative hanging hearts out of them, but it’ll take me a while to finish the kit so it’ll likely not be used as decoration until next Feb!

I’ll also try to finish the very last chapter of Christmas Chronicles (a few days late) and post my last entry on the 2022/23 read-along thread.

Before bed I’ll either read (current book is Lady Catherine and the Real Downton Abbey) or DH and I might watch a film. Last night we watched Pillow Talk. Tonight it’ll be a choice between Predator 1 & 2, or more Doris Day/Rock Hudson; it’s likely that the latter will win out since we both seem to be in the mood for sedate humour & charm this week.

weegiemum · 04/02/2023 10:07

Going out for tapas this evening for DS 21st birthday meal, it was yesterday. Mil is here to join in the festivities.

I'm up, drinking coffee and got the dishwasher on and the kitchen cleaned already!

We have to go to the sorting office to pick up a parcel which is hopefully ds birthday present, and I have to prepare stuff for Sunday School at church tomorrow.

This afternoon we will be watching the rugby!

OhClunge · 04/02/2023 10:12

Morning all! Off to browse junk and antique shops today , lots of cake and tea will be consumed too

Simonjt · 04/02/2023 10:13

Morning everyone, we’ve not long got back from a morning dog walk/play park visit.

I’ve got someone coming to view my car in a bit as I’m selling it, I don’t use it enough to justify keeping it, its also appreciated in value so I will most likely get more than I paid for it. I’ve got an away game later, then tonight we’re to Twickenham to watch England play, I’ve lied through my teeth about how much I paid for the tickets, so I’ll be in trouble later 🤣

Mammma91 · 04/02/2023 10:15

Morning all! DS age3 had a sickness bug all last weekend and has come down with a rotten head cold now so has been off nursery all week. He’s perked up a bit this morning so DP is bathing him whilst I have a coffee and have a shower soon and we’re off to the aquarium then I’ve told DS we can take his toy shop voucher to Smyths today from Christmas when we’re back. Hope you all have a lovely day! X

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 04/02/2023 10:21

@Chevyimpala67 sorry to hear about your mum! Is she doing better now?

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 04/02/2023 10:29

Groggylegs thank you 😂. Aldi run now complete with enough stuff to create multi sugar rushes in said grandson. 😂

golddustwomen · 04/02/2023 10:31

Good morning everyone!

I have just had my hair done and am about to start doing my make up for a well deserved and well over due child free day and night.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

Floralnomad · 04/02/2023 10:38

Husband has gone to his mums for the morning . Our eldest stayed overnight last night and he’s still in bed , daughter is also still in bed . I’ve just had a mug of green tea and am literally just waiting for people to get up . I’m tied to the house at the moment as our lovely dog is very ill with high blood pressure and has to have someone with him at all times - he’s asleep on the settee .

lucysmam · 04/02/2023 10:41

@Decafflatteplease yes, I have a small pile of decent items I think will sell. Even if I only make £1/£2 per item, I'll be happy. We're going to save the money for train fare to York for the Christmas market, and hopefully enough for our Panto tickets too. We'll upload some things next week, over half term, and see how we get on.

@LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand I hope you enjoy the trains 🤣 that made me laugh.

@TangledWebOfDeception your celebratory month of little things sounds lovely 💖

We're almost sorted for town & dd2 is busily throwing a teenage strop because I suggested we buy her a new top to go out in later 🙄 ...the sweater she's chosen has a mark on it that hasn't come out in the wash, but she's determined it's fine 🤯

Goood morning all..been up since 7 got 3 babies so full on till now with changing, breakfast then getting them ready. Other half at work today but house is tidy and we just chilling and playing today. I was going to take the 3 for a walk with the dog but unfortunately forgot to ask hubby to get double buggy out of the car so can't do that lol.

IhearyouClemFandango · 04/02/2023 10:45

We have a Bil/SiL staying until lunchtime, DH is on call so has to go out shortly. The kids are going to go for a walk with the visiting family, I'm going to hook out all their summer clothes, luggage etc for checking, measuring, trying on etc before half term holiday.

Later on this afternoon hopefully DH will be back, I'll take the kids out to get their weekly sweets/pocket money. Oldest child (12) wants to.walk to the shops with her friend.

Might make a curry for dinner as is Saturday standard.

Natsku · 04/02/2023 10:53

It's volleyball tournament day for dd so we're at some school's sports hall, waiting for her first match to start. I've got a headache and all the cheering and chanting is really starting to get to me, and the cafe they're put on here is tiny - was hoping to get a bottle of fizzy pop but all there is is tea and coffee and the tea is Lipton :(

We will probably stop for burgers on the way home though, so I'm looking forward to that.

OH has taken DS to soft play so hopefully they're having a good time at least.

Crazydogmumma · 04/02/2023 10:56

Currently at centre parcs- have been for a stroll through the woods, now having some brunch before braving the swimming pool and the rapids!

popandchoc · 04/02/2023 11:35

Been to swimming lesson. Eldest is at tumbling. Youngest is about to get ready for tap.
DD2 has party this afternoon and DD1 is going out with her dad and then they are both going to stay at their dads overnight so i will be making myself a paella and watching some tv,

Sceptre86 · 04/02/2023 11:59

I'm just about to run a hoover around and then will give dd2 (16 months) her lunch. Dd1 and ds have gone to the cinema with their dad to watch the new puss in boots film and will probably get some lunch before coming home. I've hinted that I would like them to bring me the new rolo hot chocolate from Costa so let's see. After dd2 has had lunch I'll put away some clothes and try and get her to nap so I can have my own lunch. Might go for a walk with her later. Otherwise having a relaxing day of doing chores at my own pace.
