Has anyone bought an Air fryer lid for their Instant Pot Duo?

As above.

My cooker has died. I bought an Instant Pot as most of our meals are chillis, curries, stews - wet based. I've done new potatoes in it and salmon on saute mode...

Rather than buy a new oven for the few bits we might bung in - ie roast. I'm thinking of either buying an air fryer for the odd chip or bake dinner... Or... Buy the air fryer lid which I have just come across.

I seek the wisdom of others!

Thank you.

I have the instant pot Duo Crisp which is essentially what you're proposing though I'd imagine the buttons will be slightly different. The air fryer lid is very bulky but it works fantastically. It's good for DH and I but I think you may struggle with large quantities, we live in a hot country so it's great not just for cooking something like a few oven chips but also quickly crisping a stale baguette or heating croissants without having to turn the oven on and making the kitchen even hotter.

Thank you. This lid looks quite bulky, but less bulky than an oven!

I suppose because it's not named as an official one for the one pot, then I'm wondering.

There's only me and DD at home, so not looking for huge portions. I'll post a link if can find it again.

Is it cheaper to just buy a separate air fryer? Often post sales accessories are so ridiculously expensive so unless storage space for both is a huge issue that might be the way to go - also means you aren't putting all your eggs in one basket in terms of the longevity of the base - small kitchen electricals (or any electrical for that matter) aren't built to last like they used to be.

Yes that's on my mind too, especially as Asda have them for 28.99 at the mo. I'm waiting for payday, otherwise would have just picked one up.

I think you're probably right especially as I'd want to do a chicken in one and roast spuds in the other... Or something to that effect.

Have cupboard space, and with only the 2 of us, I think you've made my mind up. I was just wondering if someone had tried one - waiting to hear - yes, it's the best thing ever 🤣

Yup, small airfryer for the bits I would use oven for.

You've made up my mind. It doesn't take long 😁

@TheTeenageYears @Habibtihayatiii because I know you must have been anxious about my predicament... 🤣 I ended buying the lid. So far, so good. It looks like ETs spaceship!

Haha! Fab! Enjoy the new found freedom of air frying everything in sight for a week or two until you get bored and settle into a routine of what works for you (and ET!)

I also have a Duo Crisp and use it most days for something or other. Dd is 19 and a huge fan, she insisted on trying a whole chicken in it and it's brilliant!

I have the duo crisp and an airfryer, but have only twice used the duo crisp airfryer lid because it's just easier to use the airfryer.
