Just me being nosey

OP posts:
fatsinglereadytomingle · 03/02/2023 23:11

No. If I could afford it I'd resort to plastic surgery and start from the top and work my way down. In reality I'll need to stick to skin care and Botox and a never ending diet. Im newly single and I'm pretty sure that I'll stay that way because I'm definitely no looker.

MyBloodyMaryneedsmoreTabasco · 03/02/2023 23:11

Not particularly. I never thought of myself as vain, but I'm finding looking older harder than I thought I would. My teeth, despite years of very painful and prolonged dental work are not good and the menopause has not been kind to my body. But although I don't like the way I look, I don't care in an obsessive way, more a muttered "for fuck's sake" when I look in a mirror.

Dancingqueenwannabe · 03/02/2023 23:15

Daily no, but I know when I dress up, make an effort and take my time then I can look OK
I need to lose weight for me, mainly for fitness and health reasons but also to help my confidence but I do feel that I'm slowly getting there and become happier with who I am... at times!!!

DecommissionedVag · 03/02/2023 23:19

Yes I am. Obviously there's things I'd like to change, but life's too short to worry about it. I focus on the positive things. I'm generally slim, nice legs, nice teeth and smile, no wrinkles and look young for my age. So can't complain overall.

familyissues12345 · 03/02/2023 23:19

More so than I have been before. I'd like (and need) to lose a few stone, but really ive got much happier in my skin the older I'd got

faffadoodledo · 03/02/2023 23:19

Yes. In quite good shape. I have good bone structure. I have lines (no tweakments), but they're part of me and I don't mind them.
I think at 56 I've worn quite well. I'm lucky.

Leemoe · 03/02/2023 23:22

No because I was/am beautiful and am now 40.

Who was it that said that being beautiful is like being born rich and slowly becoming poorer every year? Cos they were right.

WandaWonder · 03/02/2023 23:23

Well not content in an 'active' way, I am just me so just accept me for me really, I only think about it when people post or ask

soboredtonight · 03/02/2023 23:24

More or less. I could be thinner if I didn't drink exercises more and ate less chocolate but that's on me and I'm happy enough as I am.

soboredtonight · 03/02/2023 23:25

At the end of the day regardless f what you look like your body is amazing and does amazing stuff every day to keep you here.

Ohhhh this.

tomfromloveislandsbeard · 03/02/2023 23:45

I used to think my face was ugly and my body was sort of ok, but that my hideous face was the important bit.

Now I'm quite happy with my face. It's slim, has cheekbones, my eyes are nice, everything is well proportioned and nice. My hair is shoulder length and blonde highlighted and Ghd'd to an inch of its life.

But I hate hate hate my body. I'm mid forties now and have had a similar shape since my twenties, size 10-12 with small perky boobs and massive arse.

I'm trying to channel Maya Jama atm but I'll never love what God gave me sadly.

MariahsBaubles · 03/02/2023 23:51

When I was younger no. I look at those photos now and realise I was effing gorgeous.
I liked how I looked through 30s and early 40s.
Suddenly at mid 40s I look like a weird scrawny mouse in a wig with a bulging waistline

Manasprey · 03/02/2023 23:51

I'm alright for mid 40s. Good figure and posture and cracking legs.I look better in real life than in photos though, because i can't do the pose thing and smugsmileface and I get irrationally annoyed by (some) friends and family who post photos where they look amazing and much, much thinner than in real life. I'm always a bit like: but you didn't look like that when I saw you last.🙄although obviously, you're not allowed to say that online.

FavouriteSlippers · 03/02/2023 23:53

No
Hate my figure.
Hate my nose
Hate my scarred skin
Hate my hair as gets greasy daily. And yes have tried the leaving it and training it etc

So yes I hate everything about me.

ResearchMakesMeCry · 03/02/2023 23:54

Yes, although I've absolutely no waist

DramaAlpaca · 03/02/2023 23:55

Generally, yes. I'm late 50s and in reasonably good shape. I'm comfortable in my skin.

RingRingRingGoesTheTelephone · 04/02/2023 00:12

Yeah pretty much, I'm 40 this year, I have a really good figure, a nice face and smile. I had bad skin as a teen which really knocked my confidence for years, my skin is clear now. I'm very comfy in my own skin, have been since my mid 20s.

endlesscraziness · 04/02/2023 01:24

@Manasprey I have a friend that always looks incredible in photos compared to real life whereas I look awful I'm all photos Confused

endlesscraziness · 04/02/2023 01:25

Yes, 40 and pretty content

OrangeChocolateOrange · 04/02/2023 01:25

I think I look gorgeous in dimly lit rooms, but terrible in bright light or daylight.

I'm not enjoying ageing, and I wish I'd appreciated my youthful loveliness.

LadyWithLapdog · 04/02/2023 08:09

@WorryMcGee 💐I hope your treatment is successful and your body and life get back to a better shape with time.

Outtasteamandluck · 04/02/2023 08:41

No. I cant look in the mirror.

Scarecrowrowboat · 04/02/2023 08:52

Mostly. I want to build more muscle and cut some of the fat so the muscle shows better. I have a fair bit of muscle now but can barely see it.
In terms of the rest of me I used to hate my nose and think I'd love a nose job but I'm now in my 30s so really couldn't care less about that. I guess I would like longer legs but more for practical reasons, not having almost every pair of trousers trailing on the floor.

BenCoopersSupportWren · 04/02/2023 08:53

Anotheronestatisticssuck · 03/02/2023 22:22

Most of the time, I'm fairly ugly but this only bothers me every so often. I have a lot of other strengths and things going for me. My looks haven't held me back, I have a job I enjoy, a lovely husband and lovely children
But sometimes I do look in the mirror and think ugh

I don’t have children but otherwise I could have written this word for word.
