Muscle twitching

For a couple of weeks now I have been experiencing twitches in my stomach muscles and one of my buttocks. It's most noticeable when I'm sitting or lying down. It doesn't hurt, but they are annoying.
I am likely peri menopausal and I also take levothyroxine for hypothyroidism. I have recently started taking magnesium because I get restless legs.
I had flu at the beginning of the year, and it's taken me a while to get over it.
Does anyone else get twitching muscles? Is it worth going to the GP? My uncle died from ALS, and it was awful, so I am a little paranoid I think.

I do get twitches.... In the same place for a while (eg maybe under my eye for weeks), and then it's fine. I presume that nerves etc can get a bit annoyed by anything (including a tight muscle squeezing it) and then calm down.

Stomach and buttocks can be irritation from the same spot in the mid back, which of course can be irritated by pressure on the spot (eg sitting or lying on it).

I know nothing about ALS though...

Maybe it's like anything else; if it doesn't calm down, get it checked out.

Thanks @Datafan55
I think I should probably get a blood test to check my thyroid levels. It's just impossible to get an appointment at the moment!

For an actual blood test, or for the GP beforehand? If the latter, you can (certainly at our surgery) just request via a link on the website.

Round here we have to book a blood test slot and I know five days has been the quickest recently.
Always worth getting it checked though!! They might tack on any other routine blood tests too (eg full blood count).
As I grow older (and I am beginning to enjoy peri-menopause too), I relish the words 'normal' and 'average' with regards to any health tests they're just doing as a routine precaution :-)

@Datafan55 I can't see a way to book a blood test via the website (other than a link to book a private one Hmm) But I can fill in an econsult on Monday, so I'll put all the info on there, and maybe they'll send me directly for blood test. Thank you for your help.

Really common post virally - and the chances are much higher it’s that than a rare case of ALS… obviously do get checked out though.

I get this in my legs at night. I find vitamin D helps.
