Rehoming cats

We have two male, 3 year old cats. Since our daughter came along 9 months ago, they spend most of the day hiding, are very nervy and one repeatedly soils next to the litter box. It's apparent that they are unhappy with the presence of a baby but we have persevered thinking it would be temporary, but since she's been on the move I'd argue it's worsened. We have reached a point where it seems like rehoming them is in their best interest as they are not happy living with us anymore.

One of the cats is black which I know are the most abandoned, and I really think they would be happier rehomed together. For this reason I couldn't just give them to a shelter for them to potentially separate, but just trying to see it from an outsider's perspective, I really don't think anyone would openly adopt them like they would if an advert for a kitten was posted online.

Does anyone have any suggestions for where might be best to seek an alternative home might be?

Sorry to hear it. I'm afraid more people are rehoming pets now than adopting them due to rising costs, so it might be extremely hard:(

Contact Cats Protection, they might be able to help.

Given that they aren't destitute, talk to the local rehoming place for their advice. Maybe they will list then for rehoming for you whilst they stay with you?

If you are going to do it then do it then do it through a cat rescue so that potential owners can be vetted . Are they indoor cats as you could always try introducing them to the great outdoors , perhaps cat proof the garden

being a black cat, and adult, or coming in a pair doesn't make rehoming impossible. Rescues will be desperate to keep them together or they've have to find twice as many homes.

However please think carefully about whether it's fair to pass a cat with litter box problems onto someone else. Now the behaviour is entrenched, realistically you may be saddling someone else with the problem for the rest of the cat's life. The only way to re-home ethically is to be really honest and upfront about his toileting.

Have you done all the things that are supposed to help?
So Feliway, extra litter trays in extra places, quiet time with you & without baby, spaces that are just for them, everything all the cat behaviour expects say...?

Can they go outside? Second the suggestion to introduce this if they don't as it gives them other places to go.

Sorry if you have tried all this and more... You just mentioned soling by the litter box so I wondered if you'd tried all the options around that.
