Does anyone else also quit/give up easily?

I have always been a bit of a quitter, i give up very quickly i dont try things for long & i wish i could change that.

For example i joined a weightloss club & gave up within 24hours!!

I tend to not try things long enough for them to work. Whether it be a hobby, a new job, a relationship etc.

I really wonder what it's about?

Anyone been there done that & conquered it?

I do. Im quite impatient, if I don't see results quickly I give up. I'm aware it runs much deeper than that though, it's about lack of commitment.

I am like this. I don’t know what it is about really. Lack of confidence probably.

I'd like to conquer it, I think I'm getting a bit better as I get older. I've recently joined the gym, I aim to prioritise that, to commit to going, rather than looking at the results of going.

I fear 'routines' as they appear (to me) as boring! Routines are generally commitments of some description. So, in my head it goes something like this.."there's a crochet class every Tuesday at 7, but that means I can't ever do anything else on a Tuesday"..it's bonkers I knowHmm

I'm a bit like this. I annoy myself.

Fear of changing maybe? Opening up space for the next problem? Fear of getting outside of your comfort zone?

I am a bit of a quitter more from an imposter syndrome/anxiety angle, and also if I don’t HAVE to do something and it’s not benefitting me in return for my exertion (thinking about a job I did infrequently for a bit kind of as a favour to someone) then I can’t be arsed with that - I value my time highly I suppose.

I go into things wondering how I will ever get out of them too, I guess I’m a bit all or nothing. Eg I’m about to start volunteering somewhere and already worrying about how to leave when I no longer have time or just don’t want to do it anymore.

Have you looked at the four tendencies? Might help you understand your personality eg if you’re a rebel or an upholder it might make a difference to how you set yourself goals.

I'd approach it from a different angle.

What is your desired outcome?

Are you 'biting off more than you can chew' initially and setting yourself up to fail?

Can you just not be arsed and lack the motivation?
