A parking one..

Tonight I had to run an errand by car and when I got back I saw space outside two of my neighbours houses but I squeezed into a spot on the other side of the road where there are no houses. I then had to pop out again and when I got back I realised that the spot I had been in before was in front of gate albeit no dropped kerb. So I parked outside my neighbour’s house. His own car was on the other side of the road where it had been earlier. He came out and asked me to move my car forward so it was outside his next door neighbours house and not his! I refused because he could have moved his car to outside his house earlier and because the spot he wanted me to move to is on a corner and turning cars have damaged parked cars there before. I generally try not to park outside my neighbours houses and on the other side of the road but there wasn’t space there this time. Is he a CF?

You know the rules... Where is the diagram...

Yes he’s a CF. He doesn’t own the road.

What did he say when you said no?

He told me to move my car back a bit so it wasn’t taking up two spaces (it wasn’t - I left a foot between me and the car behind!)

You need a diagram to understand that? Really?

It's a joke 🙄

There's no right to park outside your own house. Ignore him. Leave your car safely parked wherever you need to.
I would suggest getting a cam in the car though; I had my windscreen damaged by someone who thought they owned the street in front of their house 😡

Jokes tend to be funny, the endless competition be the first one to jump in demanding a diagram for extremely basic scenarios, not so much 🙄

Hallelujah.

Someone agrees with me that this tiresome demand for a diagram is pathetic.

Obviously there is no right to park outside of your own house, but when you got to the bit about asking you to move back a bit as you were taking up 2 spaces, then I am beginning to suspect there are 2 sides to this story.
Outside our house, you can get 2 cars between the two driveways if you park just right. A lot of people don't - that then means there isn't room for a 2nd car and it is frustrating (and we aren't in an area that is particularly desperate for parking most of the time).
Without literally seeing the cars and the space, none of us will be able to tell if you are right or if there would have been room for 2 cars if you budged up a bit.

I really wasn’t taking up two spaces! I left a foot between me and the car behind and there was a big gap in front of my car in front of his next door neighbours. Neither of us wanted to park there because it is on the corner!
anyway I moved my car this morning when more space opened up on the road so I hope he feels better!!
