And anywhere I can look to compare deals? I absolutely want to keep my number, not too fussed about a new phone. May want to add DC1 later this year and get him a very basic contract.

I'll be paying £45 a month with EE from April if I don't move.

It's very easy to change provider and keep number.
Speak to who you want to move to and they will tell you what to do.

really easy. I changed to giffgaff last summer and it was almost effortless and I'm someone who is easily overwhelmed by life admin. Wish I'd done it way before I did.

Use websites like Uswitch, you can price compare and places such as mobile phones direct & Fonehouse offer much better prices than going direct.

Was very easy to do. I use smarty and like that I've been able to add dc as they've got older and upgrade when they've needed more data. Also easy to remove someone when they leave home. You get a discount for multiple people and a discount for unused data. Currently 3 of us on plan and I pay about £13 a month.

Super easy. Money saving expert has a helpful section on this.

Amazing, thank you for all the advice. I'm one of those annoying people who has lots of life admin (disabled child so have EHCP and DLA forms which make me hate all life admin lol). I've been putting off switching providers but I'll sort this ASAP. Thanks 😊

  • Ask people in areas you normally use what they’ve found the signal like on O2 and three.
  • If O2 wins, head to giffgaff, if Three wins, head to Smarty.
  • Have a look on my EE to see how much data you’re using, and request a pac code (Menu > Account settings > Leave EE)
  • Choose a package that aligns with the data you’re currently using and order it.
  • Activate the sim and they’ll provide instructions on how to transfer your number with the pac code, it takes up to 2 working days.

To give you an idea, Smarty is currently charging £8 a month for 24GB of data, and unlimited calls/texts.
As PP. have mentioned, if/when DS joins Smarty you’ll both get a further discount.
