Travelling with baby - milk question

Can we take liquid formula abroad with us (to the Balearics if it makes a difference)? I know we can't take cows milk and we can take powdered formula...but I'm just wondering what is the advice for liquid formula? (it seems to be a grey area).

Baby "might" need milk when we are travelling - she's on cows milk at present, so was hoping just to buy a couple of the (small) premade formula as backups for the flight, as we definitely don't need a full tub of formula.

Thanks.

My daughter has milk allergies and I was so worried when we took her to New York. We took some small 200ml ready made milk and they allowed us to take them on board as they were sealed. We also declared them and they were brilliant and said no problem.

I've found this...I assume it might class as infant food.

There is also an exemption for powdered infant milk, infant food, and special foods or special pet feed required for medical reasons, if weighing less than 2 kilograms and provided that:
such products do not require refrigeration before opening
that they are packaged proprietary brand products for direct sale to the final consumer, and
the packaging is unbroken unless in current use

Thats what I assume, as it'll be sealed. Clearly labelled etc.

Yes you absolutely take liquid formula through security, even if over 100ml, in reasonable quantities for the flight. Definitely not a grey area, not sure where you’ve read that? Declare it at security. They sometimes put it through a separate liquid scanner. Sometimes it goes straight through. It holds you up though so if baby is over 1 then I really wouldn’t bother especially for such a short flight and given you can just buy some cows milk after security

A tip i got from mumsnet was to order the milk you need to the boots/ pharmacy in duty free at the airport.
You can phone before you set off to make sure it's there.
That way you get the milk you want after you have already been through customs and it also doesn't add to the weight of your luggage at check in.

If she's on cows milk, just buy some once through security - take empty bottles through. Formula you can take through in sealed containers or made up
