Legoland

I’m looking at booking a trip to Legoland Windsor. Is it easy enough to travel to and from London for the day on public transport? Is it worth paying the high price for Reserve and Ride? Not done any theme parks before. The thought of visiting Disney brings me out in a sweat with the level of organisation seemingly needed! The options in Legoland site not far behind… Thanks.

We had annual passes for legoland and have been a lot.
Buying a reserve and ride pass in advance isn’t always necessary. You can register on the app and pay for Fasttrack on the rides as needed. You’ll be mega annoyed if you pay a huge amount in advance and it’s not needed.

I’ve always driven, and it doesn’t seem like somewhere that public transport gets to easily.
Legoland is a million times calmer and less stress inducing than Disneyland.
you need the app for the day for fast pass purchasing and also being able to see queue times.

certain times of the year are busier than others. legoland in August is not fun

@EmptyEnvelope Thats really useful advice. We're going in the next couple of months at a weekend. Thank you.

Ah, I’ve just seen online that there is a shuttle bus to and from train stations.
should be easy enough from central london then

Not sure about transport but paying for the fast pass thing was well worth it when we went during a busy time. We’d have waited a LONG time otherwise and only done about half the rides.

We've been a few times. Have never used Reserve and Ride and have always been able to get on the rides we wanted to.
That said we've never visited at a peak time e.g. August Bank Holiday weekend, but have been in half term.
I think preparation is key. Look at the map in advance and identify your top ride. You can access the park prior to the rides opening. Head as close as you can to your top ride. Eat lunch whilst watching the shows and stay as late as you can. The park gets noticeably quieter as the day progresses.
Search through older threads on here re Legoland. There are some experts who will be able to give you some great tips.
Hope you enjoy your visit🙂

Definitely download the Reserve and Ride app. You don’t have to oay tonuse thenapp but you can pay to cut the wait time which is AWESOME.

I enjoyed it, fab theme park. Crap food though, take a picnic

I think public transport wise you'd need to get train to Windsor & bus to LL.
Then it depends when you are going & how tall your children are (ie which rides you want to go on)
I don't think it's possible to go for 1 day in peak time without reserve & ride and do everything.
Having said that we are relatively local and have had merlin passed so have never used reserve & ride.
Would highly recommend Christmas. The 3 water rides aren't open but we did everything else multiple times & saw Santa and longest queue was 15 mins.

Agree food is crap! But LL is fab.
