Obviously washing the duvet cover
but I’m wondering about the actual duvet

No. Nor the cover either. Life is just way too short for this amount of faff.

No.
Would never occur to me.
But then, I wouldn't wash new duvet cover or pillow cases either.
I only wash things that need washing.

Absolutely not ! I have never washed anything new inc clothes ,baby clothes, baby linen ..it just wouldn’t have occurred to me and is totally alien to how my brain works !

No it wouldn’t enter my head to. Nor would I wash the cover.

Do people have washing machines that are big enough for duvets?

We only have double beds on which we have king size duvets and a super king bed on which we have a super king duvet. Our washing machine couldn't cope with them - I thought that's why we had duvet covers 🤷‍♀️

I would wash a new cover, but just air a new duvet on the washing line for a couple of hours.

No it would ruin the feathers 🪶

NoSquirrels · 28/01/2023 13:39

My washing machine would fit a single duvet, but not a double.

Even if it did fit, then I’d have to dry it, in winter, when I’m trying to stop my house being damp.

But regardless of both those things, life is just too short to wash brand new duvets.

So, no.
