Chemist can’t give me all my tablets from prescription in October

back at the beginning of October I paid for and got half of my prescription for Hydrocortisone buccal tablets, I go in the chemist about once every three weeks and they still haven’t got what they owe me.

to begin with I didn’t see it as a problem but it’s really bugging me now, I’ve still got quite a few left of what I started with but surely something can be done. I use these tablets on a take it as you need it basis but I hold back a bit.

anyone body in the know got any ideas. Can I ask for a partial prescription to try and get them somewhere else? I’ve paid for the prescription.

Hi, can you go back to your gp and ask them to prescribe a generic version?

Same here except it’s for HRT patches. I’m still owed 2/3rds of my prescription and ended buying privately. I don’t want to switch to different type. It’s totally pants

Hi, can you go back to your gp and ask them to prescribe a generic version?

I’ve a whole load of allergies so they were based on that so I’m not sure. I’ll ask the doctors pharmacist who looked into it what can be done.

I found in the past if a pharmacy couldn’t fulfil all of the prescription, it was better not to give it to that pharmacy at all, and go find another pharmacy that can.

it’s more difficult if the product is in short supply and you end up ringing round all the pharmacies.

Ive been using Pharmacy2U for ages and they’ve been good.

They wpnt give your prescription back.

Options are gt a new prescription but you'll have to pay again.

Or complain to the pharmacy and be a little more persistent about your prescription.

Think all pharmacies are struggling to get these tablets in, unfortunately the pharmacy cannot give you the prescription back as they have supplied some against it already.
You could get another prescription, but would have to pay again.
Alternatively you could get a prescription prepayment certificate, it works out cheaper if you get more than 1 item a month.
