Bedroom worky corner

I'm trying to improve my working space which is in my bedroom for my mostly wfh role. I was getting back ache from not having a proper chair. I've got a nice bedroom chair in the dunelm sale now and have ordered a monitor so I'm not straining my eyes doing everything on a tiny laptop screen. How do you make your 'worky corner' (to quote Motherland) a comfortable and pleasant place to work when you don't have a dedicated office?

Your workplace is responsible for a workstation assessment even if you are wfh. Ideally you should have an adjustable desk chair with 5 “prongs” on the feet. And a desk at a proper height - my office got me a slimline white desk and provided two monitors so I am not straining to look at a tiny laptop (I am working on huge spreadsheets so that’s essential).

For myself, I have added two adjustable height glass “risers” (from Amazon) so my monitors are at a comfortable height.

in addition make sure your lighting is adequate for working - it may need to be brighter than lights used in a bedroom.

For me the key is to make it look unobtrusive, have the cables very tidy so I can more easily ignore it when I’m not at work.
