Homework, studying by going over class topics etc?

Was it by Year 4 or before that?

Grateful for any experience Halo

Mine are Year 9 and 10 and sometimes ask for help with their maths but thankfully the online programme they use has an example for each question which I can generally use to work out what they're being asked to do.

They sometimes have timed assessment essays at school that they have to write a plan for at home. I used to help them write the plan but now I tell them how to structure it but make them do the research as otherwise I'd have to teach myself the topic and as I say to them, it's their homework not mine!

I still help mine a bit in y7, but it usually ends up in an argument as I don't do things the way they are taught now.

Sorry no that’s not what a phoneme is. They’re about meaning, as in each phoneme has the potential to change the meaning of a word (E.g. the “p” in “tap”). Thanks for trying to explain tho, and how to explain that to a 9 year old. It’s slightly worrying if these complex concepts are being taught incorrectly (Yes I get what a letter is 😁)

I think you are getting confused. Although changing one phoneme for another at the start of some words can change the word into another word, there is no meaning in the phoneme.

Apart from Spanish and computer science, I was fine up to A level.
i can still help DS with A level maths, but need to remind myself first how to do it!

I can help with secondary maths if I watch the video (usually DC haven't bothered). Science is beyond me from Y7. I have never been able to help with creative subjects (art, DT).
