I have the Lumie alarm clock and also one of their bright lights. Both helpful. It is getting lighter in the afternoons/evenings now too which is nice.

Daylight as early as you can in the day help me. Not easy for possible for everyone. There is a BBC podcast about how well sad lamps work, let me see of I can find it.

Yes, agree with pp, my Lumie sunrise alarm is helpful - not a miracle cure but eases things a bit.

Are you in the UK, OP?

Consider taking decent quantities of vitamin D? My mother had SAD, when she started taking it she improved rapidly.

Thank you for this. Yes Vit D is an obvious thing and yes I need to get outdoors more, I know I feel better when I do, it's just getting to it that's hard 😩

I am self employed and can't keep having these zombie like days. It's so bad

Yes am in U.K.

The worst darkness will be over in a few weeks, then - it will start getting light more quickly as we get closer to the vernal equinox.

I didn't find vit D helpful

generally, .i find the brighter the light in the room, the better I feel. I have very bright lights on in the day if it's a gloomy day. I spend 20 mins by my SAD lamp in the morning.

I also find going outdoors doesn't help if it's freezing or gloomy, but I walk to the station and for all my errands, I don't drive, so am out by default most days anyway.
