Anyone with Octopus (no smart meter)?

If you're with Octopus, can you please let me know what daily and unit rates you pay for gas and electric (and if they include VAT).

We're with Bulb at the moment, waiting to transfer over to Octopus. I've just done a price comparison with Octopus and they're quoting £2846pa, whereas currently we're estimated to pay £1471pa. There's a massive difference and figures are based on same usage, so now a little concerned how much it's going to cost us in the future. The quote from Octopus isn't detailed and just gives you the option of opening an account.

Your rate seems much better than mine. Are you on a special tariff?

I'm assuming they are still on a cheap fixed rate.
OP will not get a rate anywhere near that level as no companies are offering cheap fixes now.

Automatic switch on house move. Was on an absolute belter of a deal with EDF but they wouldn't let me carry on with same tariff.

@pigsinoodies If it helps somebody out with the CoL then why not?

Electric only:

Standing charge: 25.66p a day
33.86p per kWh

For what it's worth, I was with Bulb a couple of years ago before swapping, and think their app was better than the Octopus one.

The Octopus one app shows you how many kWh you have used each day, but unlike the Bulb one, not how much it costs.

Yes I can see kWh and £s per day on the octopus app, I was moved after Avro went bust. I think the App is good and if I enter a meter reading they issue a bill.

Fantastic!! Thank you.

The amounts vary slightly round the country, but you will be paying very similar amounts to those quoted by pigsinoodies, likewise, snazxysaudmdagges amongst others. These are the energy price cap, nowhere will be significantly cheaper.

Yes, I can get the usage in £ and kWh on the octopus web account. No smart meter.

Without a smart meter I only get £ and kWh based on the readings I enter rather than a daily rate. Each reading entered is a separate bar on the graph.

So if I enter readings every week I could get a graph split by weeks but if I enter them irregularly I get a completely useless graph where the bars show consumption for different periods.

And that's only available on the website, not on the app.

From other comments it sounds like the app may be better featured if used with a smart meter.
