What lists do you keep?

Hopefully will strike some hyper-organised people like myself (who is trying to get more organised otherwise I'm just completely non-functional, anyone else?)

Some examples of lists I have...

  • ideas for the food shop
  • when I last spoke to people that I want to keep up with
  • stuff I want to watch/read
  • places I want to go with the kids
  • spending tracker

I'm curious to see what other lists people have?

@Lochjeda I love the idea of rating books and keeping track of that!!

Love this as I’m also a list “freak” myself 😂 but it just struck me that I bet it’s 99% women who have lists like these on their phones. If anyones DH or anyone else ever questions what the hell you’re talking about when you say you carry the mental load of the family, show them @Lochjeda ’s list of lists.

Food shopping. Interesting quotations. Books I want to read. Names of Westerns I have watched (I am a BIG) fan of the genre.

RoseHarper · 23/01/2023 19:57

23 for 23, a list of things I want to achieve in 23, some small, some big, but I try and have a read through each morning, it makes me a bit more intentional about day to day living. Types of things on there, keep up with friends more, skincare routine, get dressed for homeworking/not pjs, drink water, wait 48 hrs before purchases, etc etc. It helps me focus. Also have loads of lists like places to visit, packing, xmas lists, to-do lists, reading lists, I do like a good list!

Tisfortired · 23/01/2023 20:07

Lists in my notes app;

cleaning to do jobs
meal ideas
things to add to the click and collect
birthday gift ideas for various relatives
Things to buy when I get paid (eg at the mo new dog lead, new storage drawers for DS colouring stuff, new PE trainers for DS)
list of things I want to buy myself and the order of priority that I need them
places I want to go (both local days out and holidays)
things to list on Vinted
Things I want to cook/bake that I have seen on cooking programmes or social media
podcast/film/programme recommendations I’ve been given and will watch when I get round to it

I don't have any lists for anything. If I need to remember an appointment or something then I just stick it on the calendar on the wall on the relevant date.
For shopping I write stuff that I don't buy often, but don't want to forget, like sugar or something just before I set off, otherwise I just buy stuff as I go round the store.

SunSandAndLotsOfGin · 23/01/2023 20:30

My notes app consists of the following
Shopping list
Birthday present ideas
Christmas present ideas
Christmas food ideas
Things we've done to the house
Things I want to do to the house this year
Weekend going away list - saves me doing one each time!
Annual party list
Menu ideas
Password list
Holiday list
Work jobs to do
Things I want us to do for 2023.
House rules for winter!😂

I'm a list girl!!

CrazyBaubles · 23/01/2023 20:37

Split between phone and a notebook:
Craft projects (Inc when completed)
Recipes to try
Bucket list - mostly places to visit
Tv series / films I want to watch
Podcasts
Plans for the house
Plans for garden
Where I want to be in 5 and 10 years
Holiday packing list
List of ideas to be more eco friendly
Admin to do
Low fat / low cal snack ideas
Password list
Things to try / goals for this year
Gift ideas for others and me
DHs list of places and bands he wants to see
Christmas things to do
Christmas films to watch
Random to do list

Have to disagree with you tiredandstripey, my lists are nothing in comparison with my DH, plus his are useful (finances, healthy meals we like and where the recipe is etc) while mine are just to organise my chaotic thoughts and make me feel better Grin

Love 23 for 23. I feel a new notebook coming on!

NashvilleQueen · 23/01/2023 20:40

I have hundreds but most are date specific (trips, menus etc) that I've never deleted.

One that is handy I've found is a list of tradespeople locally. Whenever anyone on our local FB page asks for a plumber/plasterer/washing machine repairer etc I screenshot the most recommended ones and save into the more. When the time comes I don't have to search.

InsertSomethingMotivationalHere · 23/01/2023 20:40

Not many or I find I spend more time making lists and less doing what's on them! I list dinners for the week and tasks that need doing at work. I have to keep massively on top of the work list as it's pretty full on.

NashvilleQueen · 23/01/2023 20:41

Into the note. Not the move.

ComeTheSpringLobelia · 23/01/2023 20:42

I am not hyoerorganised but I do have a home diary and a work diary that I keep open at the relevant week and take it around the house/ office with me so I always have it to hand.

Lists;

  • shop
  • food plan
  • next steps in house and garden projects
  • to do list at work
I put in all deadlines from medicine ordering, to present buying and sending to appointments.

On work days I spend the first 30 minutes before I officially clock on organising the day.

chocolatebuttonlover · 23/01/2023 20:53

I love a list!!!

I have -

  • weekly food shop
  • birthdays
  • rolling to-do list
  • places to take DD
  • pet treatment schedule (3 cats and 1 dog!)
  • finances
  • Relationships (people to make effort to see this year mainly)
RoseHarper · 23/01/2023 20:58

Another handy one is a no- buy 2023 list...I'm terrible for buying things and then regretting it as I already have similar at home, or I know I wont use. So I have lipsticks/balms on there, I have loads and all my lipsticks are pretty much the same shade..perfume, I have more than enough to last the year, things like that. It's just a good reminder when I'm tempted.
