Reasonable refund for damaged washing machine

I recently bought a new washing machine from AO.

It was installed by a friend as I wasn't home. After reviewing my ring footage, it came off the van with a huge dent in the back and a few smaller ones.

I'm not sure how life-limiting this is but the test cycle was fine (I done this prior to watching the footage).

I contact AO and the immediately offered £50 compensation and reassured me that my consumer rights would not chamge if it was to break down in future.

I know this means nothing as they always find a way out!

They said that as I've run the machine, they will not be able to resell it if they replaced it.

Do you think £50 is enough or should I ask for more? I've been advised to request 20-25% which I think is reasonable. The machine cost £550.

I also purchased via credit card which gives me extra protection. I've not been in this position before so I'm interested in the views of others!

I forgot to mention that if I do return it, there will be a fee as it was used once (no chemicals or clothes as per the manufacturers advice).

I want to be reasonable.

Was it boxed?

Wouldn't risk it, I'd want a replacement. What they do with it afterwards is not my problem
They delivered damaged goods it's up to them to collect it and pay the additional cost, you haven't just changed your mind

@GrazingSheep I paid for invoking which they did off the van. The dents were already there.

In short, as it arrived damaged/ fault they are responsible for return costs and need to issue a refund or if they can repair they can offer that. Clearly this can't be repaired so I would want 50% refund or they can refund after collecting or exchange or a no damaged one. As they say they cannot sell if they take back so push for 50%. Remember this is an inconvenience after carelessness at their end! Better still raise a charge back and get a full refund that way.

If it works fine then £50 for cosmetic damage sounds fine. Make sure you register your warranty in case it does conk out.
