Our relatively new, across the road, neighbours are running their construction firm from home. This means at least 2 vans parked on the road outside our house at all times and an awful lot of coming / going / manoeuvering etc. throughout the day. Their front lawn is a churned up muddy mess and they NEVER use the space on their own driveway - that priviiledge is reserved for their personal vehicles.
We live on a VERY busy road and it's hard to get out of our drive at the best of times, let alone when the view is obstructed by their vehicles or if they've got yet another van / trailer parked over their driveway access which restricts our space / turning circle after pulling out.
It's also inconsiderate for pedestrians as their vans are parked across the pavements and they slow the flow of traffic as they turn it into a single carriageway as people navigate around their work vans.
Apart from speaking to them (which I'm building up to but I don't want to be 'one of those neighbours' unnecessarily...) is there anything else I should be aware of eg. council / planning / business rules???
I know that often when people post about parking there's an ethical view (it's selfish and hugely anti social to constantly park directly outside someone elses house) that is trumped by practicalities (it's a public highway so tough shit) and I was wondering if the commercial element lifted this beyond that or not??
Feeling very grumpy as it's such a lovely day, I'm working from my nice, residential, normal home which should be grass / houses / tress etc. but instead I'm looking out over a bloody builders yard.
