I meant to post the other day when there was talk about the words feeling similar recently. I was grumpy with words that feel like 4 letter words with a y rather than proper 5 letter words. It started with piney 🤣 .We had beefy and fishy in quick succession. I'm happy to accept they are valid words but feel irrationally irritated by them. I'll even admit there are words that appear to follow the pattern that don't irritate me like "lucky" and "windy". These feel justifiable somehow 🤔
Anyone else have (irrational) gut feelings about words?

Piney seemed particularly crap. Comparatives are also problematic such as rarer. We haven’t had one for a while but they are annoying. Beefy and fishy are words I do use so I can’t really complain about them. Homer was another slightly annoying word.

I commented about similar words the other day re fishy and beefy. I also think that piney and Homer were more objectionable!

Never forget it! That was a real clanger.

I have used both fishy and beefy so acknowledge I have no right to complain. I just wonder where they draw the line. I found that quordle accepts "acidy" as a guess - not sure if they have it as a possible answer. It made me wonder what other y words might be on the list .

I share @RegainingTheWill2023 irritation with BEEFY and FISHYwhile tolerating Lucky and Windy!
I think my least favourite are words where letters are repeated. Which is why the ongoing title of this thread is useful as a reminder! FLUFF was my second most annoying word after Homer

Disaster here. Clean sheet since last March, but I carelessly cleared up some history on my laptop to free up space and now I'm reset to one! Had to do today's again to see what would happen. That'll larn me to make an account. Or I can free myself from the midnight compulsion.
