Recommend me a cordless hoover that's not a Dyson!

Im just returning my second Miele cordless cats and dogs hoover to JL, a total pile of crap that relieved me of £550!!! JL are refunding my money (many thanks). I love the principle of it and when it works its brilliant but it just doesn't last.
I want to buy another cordless hoover I have dogs so lots of hair, I live rurally so quite a bit of mud comes in, I have mainly wooden floors, one very large pure wool Persian rug which quickly becomes covered in dog hair and a wool carpet runner on the stairs. I'm not an obsessive hooverer but I'd like to be able to hoover 2-3 times a week and not wear the bloody hoover out after 3 months.
I've looked on line there's a Samsung hoover with good reviews anyone had one? I don't want it to be too noisy or heavy and difficult to move around as I have a shoulder problem and most importantly I want it to effortlessly get the bloody dog hair of the floor (in fairness to the Miele when it works it does do this) and last.

Vax blade. Good suction. Light and easy to use. I have arthritis in my hands and wrists and I can manoeuvre it easily. Good reviews on the Argos site

Do not but a Shark . Unless peices if machinery we've had 2 and both have been launched out of the front door for the scrap man . No DP it's not the best invention since the wheel !.
I bought a Dyson dc02 in 1997 and it lasted until 4 years ago ..then the sighs Shark was popular .. A blind man could've picked up more with a dustpan and brush.
Henry's are good but the shape and stairs are not a good combination . Although the lead is very long

Shark Anti Hair Wrap cordless.

One of my best purchases in the last few years. Really do like it.

I have a Shark. It is a bit heavy but it is a good vacuum cleaner.

I have a Gtech and shark. The shark is pretty rubbish and caused us a lot of issues the gtech is great

We have a Samsung and are very happy with it. Easy to use and does a good job.

We have a G-tech Pro and it's pretty good (but an older model now). We don't have pets though so can't comment on pet hair. I would say ours only lasts about 15mins on Max but you can buy a 2nd battery which would enable you to swap them out (although buying a 2nd battery isn't cheap).

We've used ours a couple of times a week for the last year and a half. Usual older kids carpet mess (it will suck up small Lego bricks!) and I would say that it needs a new rotating brush in the floor head now but that's £12. It does use bags though so you might use lots if you're picking up loads of dog hair, which could be a consideration.

It's lightweight and I use it loads for ceiling cobwebs as it's easy to wave around at head height!

They have newer models that might be worth looking at reviews for.

Oh God different views on the same make why is it so hard to buy a cordless vacuum cleaner?
Perhaps I should buy a normal one. We had a Henry the Miele was vastly superior (when it worked).

I have owned a dyson dc01, Miele cat and dog corded and with bags, a cordless dyson and the newest is. Shark cordless with a flexible wand.

The shark is the best be m cause the combination of convienince and performance. I'm sure the Miele is a bit more powerful but it's a right badgered and it toppled over and hurst my back - have sciatica

The shark is dream to zip round with daily. The dyson cordless battery was shite m and could do six minutes in full. But It was ok for a quick whip round of an evening to collect he dog fur!

I got the shark pet cordless with flexology in black fridsy for £189 and it came with a detailing kit too. To give you an idea of price. The motorised pet hair tool is pretty good.

I ordered Sunday it came Monday. The Dpd chap said he'd delivered 12 in that day alone!

Honestly I ditched cordless, thought they were all crap!. I now have Shark anti hair wrap corded and its hands down the best hoover I've ever had.

Themildannnoyanceofsmaug · 22/01/2023 16:30

I have had a Shark cordless for over 6 years, love it for a quick run around, replaced the battery a few months back as the original one was starting to lose its zip. It was bought before they introduced anti hair wrap, and I sometimes wish it had that (I have bum length hair so hoover brushes are always going to need clearing a lot). Bought a fake powered pet brush and it's great in the stairs etc.

We also have a Shark corded liftaway that gets deployed every few months for a deeper clean. I won't pretend you can't tell the difference, cause you can, but it's also a big, heavy, annoying faff by comparison in a house with not enough plug sockets.

Two (big) indoor only cats, lots of country walks, so lots of hair and litter to pick up.

Numatic cordless is really really good. Battery comes off so easy recharging. Great suction with boost option. Definitely can do a whole 3 bed house of carpet on one charge and have some left over. Long pipe comes off for car cleaning or stairs. I love it, so quick to get out and do the carpets and I've had a Shark and Dyson
See it here

I have had a Dyson, works well but a pain to empty and blocks often, I now have a G Tech which I think is great, I got the one which is for dogs, can't remember the name.
