At what age did your DC grow taller than you?

Dd is 11 and taller than me.

I suspect she may slow down with her growing soon but I had hoped for a couple more years with her being shorter than me!

I’m 5ft 7 and ds overtook me at 13. In the 18 months since then he’s grown 7 inches so now towers over me

DSS is 10 and is taller then his mum at 5ft 4. His dad is 6 ft 3 so he seems to have taken after him.

I'm 6 ft so I think it will be a while before DSS or DSs ( 0 and 3) catch me up

My daughter has been my height, 5’5” since about 13, and my son was taller than me by 13/14.

Why would you want another couple of years with her shorter than you?

Because she is only 11 and still at primary school?

I am not really scared as such of course. But it does make some things harder. I find it hard to get her clothes now and often have to get her adults clothes. When I do buy her teen clothes they often hang off her as she does not have the shape of a 14 year old. People often think she is older than she is because she is tall.

DS is 12 and an inch taller than me. I’m 5ft 7

DD stopped just short of looking down at me, phew ! DS's at age 13-15.

DS over took me last year at 13 but I'm only 5'3. My 8 year old dd is roughly average atm, so maybe when she's 12. I was fairly tall until 11/12 but stopped growing then, so who knows.

DD1 about 15.
DD2 16 but is now taller than DD1.
DS just before his 13th birthday and is now taller than his sisters. He's now 5' 10" and isn't 14 till September.
I'm 5' 7".

DD1 is quite a bit shorter than me (I’m 5’5), DD2 outgrew me at around age 10, DS at about 12 but is now 15 and 6’5! Not sure how poor DD1 ended up being such a midgetGrin

I think I was 13
Mum was 5ft 8, I'm 5ft 10 (dad is 6ft 2)

Dd was 13 when she got taller than me.
Ds is 13 now and about 2 cm shorter but he's growing quickly.

I'm 5ft6

I’m 5’2 and DD is the same height as me and has been since she was 14.
DS was 5’2 at 11, he’s 14 now and he’s 5’10 and still growing like a weed, he’s grown nearly 2 inches since last May.

Slim teens would have the same problem as a girls 14 is about a women's 8-10. They would be too big on me on the bottom half as an adult woman.

my sons were 12 & 13, still have the marks on the kitchen wall, but I am only 5 ft 4, so didn't take a lot for them to out grow me, Both are now 6 ft 3!

My DD is 1 inch taller than me, iirc this happened when she was doing GCSEs so 15/16 ,she's 24 now.

My dd overtook me at 12. I am still taller than ds18 though!

DC1 is 11 and taller than me, but I am very short and her dad was very tall so I always expected her to be taller than me at a fairly early age.
