So feeling a bit down in the winter (not summer) and medication gave side effects. Internal bleeding. Started using vitamin b tablets once a day and I actually feel better. The strong strength ones.

anyone else using vitamin B? How do you find it?

any side effects in the long run?

thanks to anyone who reads and replies :)

Hi orange
interested in this

I take a multivitamin and also St Johns wort which I feel has had a major impact

im considering a high strength evening primrose capsule

the St. John’s wort has stopped me having so many tearful moments and I feel life is better

Pixiedust1234 · 21/01/2023 11:05

Placemarking as I have just started on vit b too. I have been taking high strength vit d which have helped...but not quite enough. Tried iron but got tummy ache 😕

KangarooKenny · 21/01/2023 11:06

I take it but I can’t say that I’ve seen any effect. Perhaps if I stopped I would.

There are lots of different B vitamins so guess you are taking a B complex?
i have pernicious anaemia which causes b12 deficiency which can lead to serious neurological damage and eventually death if untreated.
i Have regular b12 injections for life to treat it

I’ve just been diagnosed
How do you find the injections about to have first
Did you feel a difference, ie energy, stop pins and needles, hair thinning. If you had any of these.

PS. Bit B tablets did nothing for me. But Floridix was quite good.

I did - but it took several years to really feel better and I inject myself much more frequently than the standard injections which I found hopeless. 12 weeks is far too long in between

Why 12 weeks.
Ive been told every month

Im on B12 injections. I was every 12 weeks (way too long) then 8, now every 6. I know when I’m due. And so does everyone else 😖😂

Thete is a drastic change in my mental and physical well-being after ive had my injections

12 weeks is the standard interval on the NHS. You start with a loading dose of 5 or 6 doses every other day. I was initially on monthly jabs but then got moved down to 12 weekly so started injecting myself instead

A GP we met on holiday was a huge advocate of Vit B12. She told me she had every patient tested for deficiency.
When I asked our own GP about this he was amazed and said such tests were far too expensive and no way could the practice afford that.

I now take Vit B12 tablets and do feel better for it.

lndnbrdge91 · 22/01/2023 08:10

I take B12 as have been low or borderline in the past. It definitely helps me, with energy, mood and memory.

CleanBedding · 22/01/2023 08:29

I've been taking sublingual B12 for a couple of weeks and I think I'm starting to see an improvement. I have MS though so it's hard to untangle symptoms like numbness and fatigue.

pompomdaisy · 22/01/2023 08:35

I take vitamin B12 and D and have started to feel less achy with more energy.

HPLikecraft · 22/01/2023 09:01

I take high strength vit B.
I'm feeling much healthier and more energetic recently, but I'm also doing other things like going alcohol free and dairy free, and taking other supplements, so its difficult to pin down which is helping most.

My chronic pain is much improved though, and I've read that this can be a benefit of higher vit B intake.

Interesting
The money accounts for why it’s taken 20years for me to get the test
Went to doctors with random symptoms and was fobbed off
Asked why my hair was falling out, female doctor with lashings of thick black hair said….oh yes I get that…felt stupid and left
Went and said I was permanently exhausted ..told what do you expect you’ve got three kids
Etcetcetc
Eventually demanded blood tests
Think I only got them as it was a young locum.

Thankyou I must have got mixed up.
Can you tell I haven’t started yet….Brain fog.

NannyGythaOgg · 22/01/2023 11:17

Large doses of vitamin D3 (+K2 to aid absorption)
Vitamin B12 (I also self inject as NHS guidelines at 12 weeks are no where near enough) It's even recorded at GP that I self inject too.
And Magnesium Glycinate - which has helped sleep and anxiety/mood
