White bed sheets

Bowbellsx · 19/01/2023 20:13

my toddler somehow got into my bedroom and spread chocolate all over my white company sheets! Any tips on getting the stains out and white?

Vanish is pretty good.

ChristmasTensions · 19/01/2023 20:48

If Vanish doesn’t work, simple bleach will work. Chuck some bleach in and do one wash with no other chemicals, then another wash as normal to wash out the bleach. Sheets will be good as new. Works with any stain on anything white.

I tried the bleach method once and it ruined the bedding fabric.

Napisan and line dry outside if you can.

Frumpymumma · 19/01/2023 21:53

Napisan

If still slight mark hang in sunlight. Even if in a window

We have lots of white polos that get stained weekly and works

Bowbellsx · 19/01/2023 21:55

Ariel powder on a long 60 degree wash, don't overfill the machine.

Try soaking it in ice cold salted water, followed by Ace for Whites, then wash with biological powder, and possibly a scoop of Vanish for Whites in with the washing powder.

Movinghouseatlast · 19/01/2023 22:39

I run holiday cottages. Soak in Vanish OxyAction Crystal White for a few hours. If it doesn't come our rub the stains with washing up liquid and soak again. Then wash with yet more Vanish. If all else fails use bleach - briefly.

It will come out!

maryofthevirginkind · 19/01/2023 22:41

Long cold wash, heat will seal it in. Try neat fairy liquid on the stain first.

AdoraBell · 19/01/2023 22:44

I second the washing up liquid, if that fails then Vanish Oxy stuff mentioned.

Bowbellsx · 19/01/2023 22:46

thanks lady’s going to have the cleanest sheets ever x

Ace Gentle Stain Remover in turquoise bottle is all you need. Pour over all the stains then straight in the wash.
Anything left behind, do a second treatment as above.

Thelnebriati · 19/01/2023 22:57

I'd treat the stain with cool water and neat washing up liquid, as chocolate is greasy. Then rinse and soak in Biotex - it doesn't ruin fabric like bleach can. But it can be hard to get since Brexit, you can find it on Amazon or in some International stores.

Tesco normally stock Ace.

Don't do that, the heat sets the stain.

Branster · 20/01/2023 00:05

Yes Tesco, also Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Wilkinsons . It is is easily available not in all supermarkets but in most. Get 2 bottles just in case. I use it all the time on all food stains, including oily stains, wine stains, muddy stains, it also removes blood stains , pretty much everything.
