Ideas for healthy “snacky” tea for kids

My 2 are really not very hungry when they come home from nursery and after school club respectively but want a bit of something to eat rather than a “proper” tea. Does anyone have any ideas for a healthy, more of a large snack type tea?
So far they’ve enjoyed crumpet pizzas, picnic tea, cheese on toast and soup but I’m feeling it’s all a bit lacking in the vegetable department. The 1 year old eats absolutely everything, the 5 year old is brilliant at eating veg if he doesn’t have to have it raw so in a sauce or casserole is fine but not so much just on his plate. He doesn’t like cucumber or cherry tomatoes but will just about eat some carrot sticks.

Are they eating many vegetables otherwise?
chicken and veg skewer, pre cooked chicken and chopped pepper, halved cherry tomatoes

Yes on the nights we eat together (5 nights of the week) they eat the same as us so nearly always something pretty healthy from scratch with plenty of veg.

My DD is very similar. When she comes home from nursery she likes little cherry tomatoes & cucumber followed by fruit - strawberries, watermelon, grapes, cherries, an apple etc.

One I used to do was a pie, with peas, beans and carrots.

If they're eating "healthily" on the other days I wouldn't be too worried. My ones are usually too tired, especially at nursery age, to eat properly anyway, so I do cheese on toast with carrot sticks etc or fish fingers with mash/bread and butter and veg. Plainish pasta (you could do a veggie sauce I guess?) with cheese is always a winner too! There are also some good things in the freezer section at supermarkets which are quick and easy and reasonably healthy - I think Tesco used to do a veg Pattie type thing which was a real winner a few years ago! Not sure if they still do it as I don't shop in Tesco anymore but im sure there will be similar things.

I’m not much help because my go-to for after school club nights is raw veg + something.

But…beans on toast? Omelette with some veg in? Falafel and humous. Small helping of pasta.

Omelettes are a good idea thanks. I wonder if got some of those steam bags of veggies to chuck in the microwave I could just sub those in for raw veg (which would be my default too!!) I begrudge and detest having to come up with additional teas as well as feeding grown ups Grin

My two (7 and 2) love veggie fritters. I make the batter ahead and then lightly fry when they're ready for them.

50g plain flour
50ml milk
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon baking power
Can of sweetcorn (drained)
Chopped spinach (I usually disguise this by adding some peas too!)

We add different veg depending on what we have left over. Sometimes a teaspoon of pesto into the batter too.

Yummy!

Avocado on toast
Omelette
Quesadillas
Savoury muffins (we get the Higgedy red pepper and spinach ones or if you're a baker they're good to make in batches and freeze)

I have no genius input I'm afraid - I have a veg (& sauce) hating 5 year old so am looking for inspiration!

We do wraps - she will eat raw carrots so i grate the carrot in the wrap along with some cheese/ham etc. I also grate orange pepper in there as she doesn't notice!

I also do a proper "snack tea" which she would eat 7 days a week if allowed! She has things like Ham spread with dairylea and rolled, carrot batons, apple, soldiers......that sort of thing!

Sometimes, I get a mini pizza and put a layer of grated veg on top then extra cheese and some sort of protein. In her case the veg can't be green 🤣

I use those microwave/steam veg and rice packets to make egg fried rice - scramble an egg, mix in the microwaved packet and then a drop of ketchup.

Pastry pinwheels - tomato paste and veggie toppings, or marmite and veggie toppings.

Carrot and courgette savoury muffins.
