Try not to be alarmed at the speed of your operation. I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer nearly three years ago and was operated on within two weeks. It's great you're getting sorted so quickly - gives you less time to worry about things, although no doubt the next few weeks will be difficult for you. Every day I thank the NHS for my treatment and the speed that I was dealt with.

Stage 1 is good news at their stage. You don't say what kind of cancer you have, but treatments have come on leaps and bounds in the last few years. I am considered completely cured now and will be discharged forever in May. Good luck OP, hope your op goes well.

I'm so sorry. Hope it was caught early x

@WWorried11111 - it is yes, but you'll get through it and come out the other side.

OP sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Positive story here . My 82 year old aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer for the 2nd time in December. Same as you,she was booked in v.quickly, had it removed and shes now back to normal, albeit on medication for a few years. Wishing you all the luck in the world x

Not sure where you are. Hopefully your first treatment will do the trick. The team at Barts in london are fantastic with triple negative BC.

MinnieMountain · 19/01/2023 08:00

Waiting for treatment to start is the worst bit.

Worried11111 · 19/01/2023 08:14

@MinnieMountain yes the waiting is hard, thankfully not long for me. I've only a few days to rallye a support group as I won't be able to look after myself post op.

@Worried11111 - That's exactly what I've just had. Not sure on stage as they didn't tell me. T Neg grade three BC. Mine was two very big lumps together so I had to have chemo first.
