Car warranty help

I have recently bought my first car, it is 5 years old and has a 'platinum' 12 month warranty. I've noticed a few things that are not quite right.

The petrol cap was extremely difficult to get off and impossible to put back on, it wasn't catching and just spins around. Luckily the petrol station sold plug in universal ones but I would like a proper lockable one.

My window wipes are now not working properly, the rubber is hanging off and windows are left smeary.

My remote key works intermittently, I have changed batteries a few times and it works for a while and then stops. I already called the garage and they recommended I buy better quality batteries (Duracell rather than Amazon) which I did but no change. The screw that holds the battery in doesn't lock tightly and remains loose.

Whenever I get down to around 5 miles per hour my brakes start screeching a little.

The garage I bought the car are aware I am inexperienced, would all of these things be covered to be put right? I know wipers are relatively cheap but why pay if I'm covered, also are my brakes dangerous?

I obviously don't want to be fobbed off but equally don't want to make a fuss unnecessarily. Could someone please advise me? Thanks

I'd say most of those are general wear and tear. I thought the warranty just coveted serious mechanical faults.

Does it have a recent mot? Where did you buy it and when?

Yes the mot is until December this year, I bought it mid December last year

I got it from an independent car dealer

Were they advisories on the mot? If so they should have been sorted before you took it but are wear and tear items so not covered under warranty.

The platinum warraty I had (a year just in case) would have covered the petrol cap issue and remote fob issue.

The wipers possibly not as that could certainly be deemed wear and tear, and it's an inexpensive fix.

If you could post the wording of what it covers we might be able to assist more.

The brake noise doesn't mean they're low necessarily. Check if there was a warning on the MOT.

I work for a garage
Wipers not working we would look at but if the actual wiper needs replacing (the rubber bit) probably not covered
Petrol cap yes because existing fault? And remote key
Brakes again yes we would look at because they shouldn't be doing that, it could be the pads or discs but unless you're driving massive mileage I wouldn't expect them to be worn from sale to now so quickly

Effectively yes we would investigate it all under warranty but wouldn't say it was definitely covered until it had been in and looked at

Thanks all, my warranty is a maintenance and repair.
There were no advisories at all on the last mot.
I will change the wipers myself, no problem. I have barely driven it, no more than 20 miles I would say.

Most of these aftermarket warranties aren’t worth the paper they’re written on. They certainly won’t cover wear and tear items like wiper blades. The brake squeal sounds like it may be due to lack of use, once you’ve had it checked take it for a decent run and do some reasonably heavy braking to clean things up.
