MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 16/01/2023 17:24

Yes definitely if I wanted to be ill.

Forestdweller11 · 16/01/2023 17:25

Yeah if I was trying to get out of going to work the next day

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 16/01/2023 17:25

No.

PinkSyCo · 16/01/2023 17:26

Depends how hungry I was! Seriously though if it smelt ok I probably would.

GrumpyPanda · 16/01/2023 17:27

Depends on what it consists of.

Nimbostratus100 · 16/01/2023 17:27

no absolutely not, ready meals have a very high chance of causing food poisoning if out of date

stuff is already cut up, loads of surface area to grow nasties, probably wet as well

No way

bitingcat · 16/01/2023 17:28

I'm normally quite relaxed about use by dates but this is a step too far! Is there meat in it?

Nimbostratus100 · 16/01/2023 17:29

also, if it is already cooked and just need reheating, the cells in the plant material have already been dead a long time, as opposed to fresh uncut veg when the cells in the plant material may still be alive weeks after sell by dates

You literally had to only read the first 3 words of OP’s post to get the answer to your question.

CakeCrumbs44 · 16/01/2023 17:30

I am pretty lax about best before dates but that would be too long for me. 1 or 2 days at a stretch

Pterrydactyl · 16/01/2023 17:31

I don’t think I’d risk it.

ChungusBoi · 16/01/2023 17:31

No I wouldn’t, and I’m fairly relaxed about these things, not just because it could make you sick. The nutritional value is likely to be minimal too.

Headabovetheparakeet · 16/01/2023 17:31

I wouldn't but my partner probably would if it didn't include any meat or dairy.

mrsbitaly · 16/01/2023 17:33

Yes I'm usually quote relaxed but that's a bit too long I doubt it would taste very nice

ghtt · 16/01/2023 17:39

It was a pesto pasta ready meal, took your advice and am having fish pie from freezer instead!

OP posts:
Nimbostratus100 · 16/01/2023 17:48

youve made the right decision, pasta and rice are particularly dangerous

QueenMabs · 16/01/2023 20:24

Bit late but no. It would have been made about three weeks ago?

Pesto always goes mouldy even in a jar.

HRTQueen · 16/01/2023 20:29

Pesto pasta I would

but if it was a creamy sauce I wouldn’t

NannyGythaOgg · 16/01/2023 20:33

Yes - so long as it smelled ok and hadn't changed texture.

I frequently eat Yoghurt, Cream, Cheese that is way more out of date than that. If veg has gone slimy or the meal is separating I would be more wary

BodyShapeWoes · 16/01/2023 20:34

I’d freeze it and the eat it but I like to live dangerously

VimFuego101 · 16/01/2023 20:51

No meat, and the plastic on top hadn't swelled? I'd probably eat it.

GreekDogRescue · 02/11/2023 20:30

Yes, wouldn’t think twice.

tillytoodles1 · 02/11/2023 20:37

No.
