Constantly ill after covid

Is anyone just wrung out from being constantly ill?

I had covid in October 21, pretty bad but not in hospital or anything. In bed for 2 weeks, off work for 3. In hindsight, should have taken more time off.

Since then, I seem to get a cough, a viral infection or an ear infection, or a stomach upset, or a migraine every other week. I'm so exhausted from being ill all the time. Sick to the back teeth of it.

There's no time inbetween ilnnesses to recover. I started a new job 5 months ago and I can't keep takling time off, but luckily I work from home so I can work from bed and I don't have to commute.

Anyone else the same?

What can I do to stop getting ill?

I had Covid three months ago. Since then I’ve had 5 weeks of laryngitis, a short break and now pneumonia. Also tired and dizzy all the time.

I’m really fed up; feel like I’m not physically equipped to work anymore.

Yep, I got covid in October too. Since then, I have had chest infections, sinus infections, throat infections, gastroenteritis, muscle aches and jjoint pain, constant headaches that can get really bad, and a cough I just can't get rid off. Don't know if it is connected, but I am also cold...a lot! Far more than I used too be.

I'm absolutely sick to death of being ill and in pain, feeling rubbish, drained, rarely getting enough sleep and freezing my backside off every god damn day!

@Meshabubu 1987 called and wants its weird and patronising tone about HIV back. Whilst your general point is sound- get an HIV test if your immune system seems a bit weird and has done for a while- your language and tone is appalling. "I am not here to preach ethics" WTF?! Would you say that if you were advising someone to get a test for some other disease that fucks with your immune system that you catch/develop, like type II diabetes or MS or celiac disease? Of course you wouldn't. No disease is a moral issue.

What your lonely old man has to do with anything- gay I assume?- I don't know and your use of words like "lifestyle choices" are patronising and went out with Thatcher.

HIV and AIDS are now very treatable and if anyone thinks they're at risk of maybe having exposed themselves to the virus go and see your doctor because PEP/PrEP are available to you. Free testing is also available through lots of sources.

Jesus, it's frightening anyone has to be pulled up on speaking like this in 2023.

I'm now on chest infection number 4 since having Covid in October 23'. Had Covid before in 21' but I only lost sense of smell and was a bit tired. October 23' was pretty bad- got a Covid cough and since then it's one chest infection after the other. How long does this sh1t go on for Confused read somewhere about a year for your immune system to recover but I'll prob just get Covid again by then Hmm
